How to Enter
It’s easy to participate in the Downsize Your Home With Style Photo Contest. First, join the “Bright Ideas from Bestselling Authors” group at collins.gather.com. Join now!
Next, follow these quick steps to post a photo of a room you’d like to redecorate:
- Click “Publish” at the top of any Gather page
- Select Publish an Image
- Browse your computer for the photo you’d like to submit, and click on it to begin the upload process
- In the “Image Caption” field, describe the room you’d like to redecorate
- In the “Tags” field, type in the tag “downsize,” separated from any other tags by a comma, then click “Next”
- Under "Who can view my image," you must select "Everyone" and the "Bright Ideas from Bestselling Authors” Group
- Click "Publish”
The Gather community will vote to choose the top ten (10) entries. Author and interior design expert Lauri Ward will select one (1) Grand Prize winning entry.
All entries must be received by 11:59pm on November 19, 2007. Voting will end at 11:59 on November 24, 2007. The 10 finalists will be announced on Gather.com on November 26, 2007, and the Grand Prize Winner will be announced on November 30, 2007.

You do not need to own a house to enter. You can enter a picture of a room from a house or an apartment.

Think about how expensive it is to live in California. Why, the mayor of a city in Santa Clara County (Silicon Valley) had to resign and move out of the Bay Area because he could not afford to live here. Many people have had to do that, people that I know. and they LOVED it here.
Your profile says you live in California; so do I. I know that California is ridiculously priced! God blesses me, otherwise I would have to get married/or get a roommate/boarder to live; it is RIDICULOUS.
