Waiting for the right opportunity to share your secret family recipe for pumpkin pie or potatoes au gratin? Have a classic story about a holiday meal gone very right -- or very wrong? 'Tis the season to share, and we invite you to share your classic holiday recipe or story with us. One winner and a guest will be treated to a 3-night culinary experience in New York to dine in some of the city's hottest restaurants.

To submit your entry, simply complete the following steps:

Being from New York, not overly tempting...here's my question...why make a BIG deal out of it when it is a Sweepstakes...takes no skill, no SPECIAL STORY or a GREAT RECIPE for Macadamia Nut Mousse (one of my recipes) to become the winner. Someone with a recipe for grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup has ever bit the chance to win as someone with a great culinary contribution to the Holiday table....it's a sweepstakes. As for the eateries...not top tier.

i love to cook alot for the hoilday's my family and i get together around thanksgiving and christmas we have so much fun together we tell each other how we have been and what is going on with all of us and we love spending time with are mother every year she hasn't got much time with us her health has been getting bad so we let the kid's know how grandma used to fix the hoilday's so good for us and now we what are kid's and there kid's to have the something's as we did and i want to wish everybody happy hoilday's and more to come

hi all - i've enjoyed cooking, reading and then trying recipes since i was a sprout. and being Canadian with American kids, i get to enjoy to enjoy Thanksgiving twice. it's even more wonderous now as they start their own familes and we have grandchildren to nourish.
we have an, old to us, family recipe for a salad dressing that i'd love to share. it's very easy to make, stores really well and goes with almost all green and vegetable salads.

Many years ago, my sister, my aunt, my mom and I spent several days in New York over the New Year's weekend. What fun! And I haven't been back since.

I have lots of Christmas recipes from both my mom's mother (small town southern) and my dad's mother (German) and will find them to share.

But my favorite Christmas story is: several of my sisters and I decided that, rather than give each other gifts, we would make a gift to a charity - preferable one that helps people learn to become self sustaining financially. Best Christmas present I know!

Margaret, all you need to do to enter is 1) Join the holiday food classics group. You can do that by clicking here. Then edit the recipe you posted to the site and put a check in the box next to "The Splendid Table presents Holiday Food Classics" box. Then republish your article and it will published to the main Gather site and the Holiday Food Classics group. By publishing to the Holiday Food Classics group you are automatically entered into the Sweepstakes.

I would like to start a new family tradition by having our family vacation in a different "vacation spot" during the Christmas holiday. Spending the holiday season in the Big Apple would be deliciously splendid!!!

We have a funny tradition at our house. On Christmas Eve we go to a movie and then come home to a roast lamb dinner. We started doing this when our children were small as a way of slowing down the pace and settling into the holiday. I didn't do it one year thinking my kids were too old and they were very disappointed. It was a little wierd however, watching King Kong last year on Christmas Eve. On Christmas day, we always have a standing rib roast with yorkshire pudding. We only have this once a year and really look forward to it.

I spent a few days after Christmas in NY last year with friends in the suburbs. It would be great to stay in Manhattan and really be in the midst of it.

As our children grew into adults, we have created more of a tradition of the untraditional for our Thanksgiving feasts. One year we had a large number of friends come over to a massive feast for vegetarians and carnovores, timed out to the minute for each recipe so that it would all be done at the same time -- the cooking experience was almost as good as the food. Another year we took T-giving on the road, taking pots and cookbooks to where one son was in school, where many friends brought dishes and we cooked the turkey. This year, a visit to family in another state. In each case the food was just an embellishment on the relationships. Here's to adventures!
