My favorite gadget is the microplaner, you can zest lemons, limes, oranges with ease. Also make some very impressive small size cheese...I love it and the zest of those citrus fruits is soooooo awesome in pies and cakes and soups.... yum..... smiles.. Elizabeth

My favorite gadget in the kitchen is a tiny rubber spatula. With all the fancy, expensive kitchen items out there, I wouldn't trade my little spatula for any of them. Most of my other kitchen tools have pretty specific uses and are limited in what they can do. I've used the tiny spatula to loosen cakes from their pans after baking, to scrape bowls, to get the last little bit out of a jar of horseradish, to stir delicate soups and sauces, to ease warm cookies onto a cooling rack, to fold chocolate chips into meringue, to stir hot chocolate so that there isn't any dry mix left in the corners of the mug, etc. It's also been useful to fetch an errant pea from between the coils on the stovetop! For a $3 investment, a tiny rubber spatula can't be beat!

I think it has to be the frying pan...without which you cant do much!

My favorite gadget is the peeler. You can peel almost about anything with it is use it often in my kitchen.

My ABSOLUTE favorite kitchen "gadget" is my Santoku knife! I have a "less expensive" version of what all those TV chefs use, but I LOVE it! It is well-balanced, and the edge stays sharp. I only have one in the house and one in the RV, so they each get a lot of use in their respective homes........I have used them for everything from garlic and onions, to opening up squash - and they do all things equally well.
