You sent invitations. You earned points. Now let's see who walked away with prizes!
We were able to introduce some fantastic new members to the Gather community through the network of people who joined (though we haven't yet reached Kevin Bacon). Gather members used their powers of invitation to help create a more vibrant forum and earn themselves thousands of bonus Gather Points™ to put toward great products from the Gather Earnings Program. The competition was tight, with the Top 10 Invite Leader Board changing every week.
Congratulations to our top inviter, Joel Carillet, who week after week maintained his spot at number one. Joel not only earned 6,250 bonus Gather Points™, but also a new laptop bag and $1,000 cash!
Nine additional Gather members have earned themselves a space on the Invite Leader Board, and each will receive a personalized Gather laptop bag from Timbuk2:1. Joel Carillet – 6,250 bonus points
2. Shawn H. – 3,670 bonus points
3. Styletto Magazine – 3,460 bonus points
4. Jenn Loathing – 1,030 bonus points
5. Kurt Michael Friese – 750 bonus points
6. Crystal Mohrmann – 750 bonus points
7. BCBC Admin – 740 bonus points
8. Amy Logan – 700 bonus points
9. Susan Reynolds – 690 bonus points
10. Stephanie Brail – 620 bonus points
Once again, a big thanks to everyone who participated. But don't stop inviting just because the contest is over. Keep spreading the word and help make everyone's Gather experience better!

I doubt that readers of my blog on which I promoted Gather ( http://tinyurl.com/7lal4 ) are going to be disruptive to the community if we are lucky enough to get them to participate. What I object to is a certain rarified elitist air developing among Gatherers which I find more than a bit disturbing.
I don't think it elitism to question how many users this interface can maintain. I think that might be considered pragmatic, at worst.
This is actually a very high quality bag. I used to work for a promotional products company so frankly I was expecting some flimsy piece of crap but the bag Gather sent me is actually realllllly nice. There's even an extra "stability" strap in case I want to wear the bag while I'm riding my bike (which I do ride a lot).
Glad I squeaked in there at the end. Thanks Gather!
