The warm sand and lazy days experienced there are rejuvinating to both my body and my soul.
I love to read great fiction, and Elin Hilderbrand's book, Barefoot, promises to fill my expectations of a wonderful summer escape!
While at the beach, I'm looking for the perfect beach read, and Hilderbrand's book sounds like it fits the criteria!
I do however love going to the beach. Being from Philadelphia, my summers were spent at the Jersey shore. I remember being about 5, and "getting some sun". The whole atmosphere was just a complete change from my city surroundings. Now with my husband being in the marine corps, we are stationed near Oceanside,CA. I am able to give my children the memories on the beach that my parents provided for me.
I am interested in reading this book due to its name. "Barefoot" seems to invoke an emotional sense of calm and peacefulness that the beach always brings me.
I am at the beach constantly. I'm a swimmer and love the water, be it ocean, lake, or the Gulf of Mexico, near my home in Florida. I have never been to Nantucket, but a beach is a wonderful thing. Nantucket qualifies as a gorgeous one, from what I hear about it.
Elin Hilderbrand is not an author I've read but one I'd like to read. I have been too long involved in non-fiction and have neglected the last couple of years of best-sellers. Whether I am chosen or not, I will have to read her books.
But...I always manage to find room in my tote bag for a fun summer read.
I would LOVE the opportunity to bring "Barefoot" on our next trek to the beach, to escape into the lives of three women whose problems dwarf mine. If I'm lucky, I just might finish it before my kids bury their Mom up to her neck in wet sand.
THANKS!!!!
Debbie K.
