I am a woman who used to be fat. I am a woman who used to be the fattest person in ANY room. Or so I would tell myself. I would also tell myself that I was the dumbest, ugliest, most unattractive person in the room.
But that was the old me. The New Me is in a continual process of improvement of my physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health.
I achieve this by healthful eating, exercise, spiritual study and quiet time, engaging in classes and lectures, reading, and socializing.
Back in March, 2005, after several weeks of phone counseling through my HMO, I finally started to count my calories and exercise. At that time, I weighed 228 pounds. Over the years I have consistently lost weight, but the spinning scale has now stopped. In fact, for the first time in nearly four years, I've gained weight--about six pounds.
So I'm here. Hoping to return to a healthier routine.
One additional comment, I've run an online yahoo.groups e-mail list since 1998 called YourNewLife. Our focus is healthier living through diet and exercise. Join there, too, and between these different support methods, we can be healthier.
