Daises and confused Below is a wiki inside of a Google document ie Google Doc's this is a work sheet you'll see it look chaotic! well its not really. Cathi made a list then she shard it online i opened it on line and added some ideas to her notes. some things on the list she already did so i marked thos tasks in green but left them just the same. we invited other friends and they also made changes to the list. when you join Gestalt we work to Gather on your gather projects. the sit acts as an online tool so that you and you friends can interact at any time. hers an example Cathi is in Louisiana i'm in Alaska you might be in Boston. we all are in different time zones with different schedules, but here that makes no difference. we all see things differently we note different things as we work...what we add will be different and the end product will be a better one.
this post will serve a a question and answer forum for the site...oh did i say Site? lol come see it for your self... PS this site is for the Gather community.

Check List
According to Gestalt psychology, the whole is different than the sum of its parts. Based upon this belief, Gestalt psychologists developed a set of principles to explain perceptual organization, or how smaller objects are grouped to form larger ones. These principles are often referred to as the “laws of perceptual organization.”
Arthur C. Clarke formulated the following three
"laws" of prediction:
- When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
- The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.
- Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

geocache - What is Geocaching? Geocaching is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache’s existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS unit can then try to locate the geocache.

i was not lie'en when i said i dont no what im doing lol
He does too!
We're sharing each others skills and strengths to make something better. "The Whole is Greater than the Sum of it's Parts." That's the whole idea. To add quality to everything we do, and to do this though collaboration with some talented people. To make each post, each article, each document count. Not for points but for understanding and clarity. For accurate information and to help Gather to become a reference point, not because Gather is the excellent part, but because of the writers who contribute here are excellent.
You write a post and what happens? a few people see some comment and thats it, its over. But what if i am really interested in what you had to say. i could use Gathers useless search option, but were will that get you??? who knows, its not intuitive so you may be taken way off base.
Is there a better way.
What is the purposes of a link?
What is a link farm and are they always bad?
link exchange systems are designed to allow individual websites to selectively exchange links with other relevant websites and are not considered a form of spamdexing.
that's the test isn't it? i failed miserably...
no were learning by the seat of our pants
right to go beyond and reach past management.
i have said before the changes made by Gather have been for the business end not for the user.. however the business must succeed in order to provide this platform.
what can we do?
this is one idea..
Here is an example so that you can see for your self.

i use google docs with my friends, but i don't know where you guys are...you're invisible...

oh i thought it was my fault...or maybe it still is...cool video though!
I'm so confused!
And? lol! What are you confused about?
lol come and join the confutation
I am a little confused too but I like learning from others so thatswhy I am here.
ANd Oh My Gosh, What can I say; I took a venture and I am soooo impressed with the results. Darren first sent me an email and I said I would giveit a try. WOWIE ZOWIE!! Here is the end product I could not wait to edit
Traditional Delaware State Foods
An email from cathi said to put up another article "On your next article, set it up on Google Docs and since we can all edit at the same time, we can walk you through a lot of the information" I am not sure exactly how to do that but I will give it a try I am somewhat computer illeterate. ( The only reason that the article in my comment is clickable is I did copy & paste because I have not yet grasped how to do that yet .
well April we are glad to help I've been a Gather scene 11/ 2005. and when i joined there were some really cool people here from NPR then i move to Alaska in a very remote area. it took awhile for technology to catch up to me but when i did i got the sat light and hooked back in. i was dismayed to see Gather had not invested for the future of the company and i considered moving on. But i am not a quitter. so what to do......cry....stew,,,,huummm... well none of the above.
No we reach beyond and grasps the answers we need.
in the site you will fine video tutorials that will show you how to use the Google Doc's it is a completely web based document application. i will do my best to teach you and others how to use the web to grow learn and achieve.
This all looks very complicated...but interesting.
not hard at all we will help ..once you see how we do it it will be clear to you. this is Aprils post when we started her post was just text. you can see what we did.
I've yet to shamble on over there~baby's got my hip~my hair and my tired a** til the weekend~
I WILL be there~
all ways happy to see you.
Thanks for posting to GutterGirls~
Okay ... now that I've pasted my head back together after it's brief but powerful explosion ... (hope I put all the pieces back in the right places) ... I followed the link to google docs and it looks very interesting.
But maybe I do not actually understand it since it looks easier than I thought it sounded when I was trying to understand the written explanation ...
Do we really have to understand it in order to use it though?
If it is as it seems to be ... mmm ... why so much power and utility for free? Info gathering? Or ... something else...?
In any case, maybe because I'm not really a writer, I don't really see where this is going. Collaberation might be fun even helpful in some instances - seems to have really helped April (although I didn't see the 'before' version of her article; I take her word for it that she benefitted cause the end result looks and reads great) ...
But where is this going? Do you Cathi and Darren hope to see this as part of a possible future upgrade here at Gather? As an option or as the foundational programming? Or something else altogether?
Does this have something to do with Cathi's poll article irt how we use tags etc? Mmm..
No .. no ... my head is starting to feel funny again ... let me go take another look at the google doc site and see if that helps.
If not ... I think I'll go do something easier like .. eat a popsicle or something.
Btw ... hi.
1. no you do not need to understand it to use it.
2. why is it free? Google applications demonstrate that creative tools facilitate active user interface. Google applications create, maintain and improve the framework on which their business flourishes. Demonstrating that authenticity in corporate citizenship is Good for business.
3. this collaberation will help any body because the tools and skills are portabl. ie Google Doc's is one of meny Cloud applications coming online now.
4. you dont have to be a righter to benefit.
5. I will help you..even if we disagree.
hopefully this will help clerify click me
