(This is a song I wrote when I was active in the pro-life movement. I am now pro-choice, but I still feel strongly these words that I wrote. Pro-choice does not mean anti-life anymore than pro-life means anti-choice. I believe every life is precious. But I believe the ulimate decision to abort or not belongs to the woman....not the government. I still hate abortion, though...as much as I ever did. And my ultimate wish is that women would make the right choices before pregancy occurs. )
Little child
in mother's womb
cries out for love
wants not a tomb;
Little child
helplessly small,
longs so for life,
curled up in a ball.
Little child
Life ends to soon
for one so small
who wants to bloom;
Little child
rejected by one,
one who should love you;
Soon it will be done.
Darling baby,
is there pain
as life drains from your body?
Helpless child,
never a chance
to love, to laugh, to grow.
Innocent child,
stunned by cruel fate
when open arms
should have held you;
Dying child
in mother's womb,
a mother's love
you will never know;
A mother's love
you will never know.
