Chapter 36
Billy Z was following the route he had been given on the gps unit. He had just turned from Olentangy River Road onto King street when he was surprised to see a man flagging him down. He was about to pass him by when the man leaned into the street and Billy recognized him.
It was Akbar Usein, the African.
Billy stopped the vehicle, pulling to the shoulder behind another car that was waiting and lowered the window. Usein reached in with a piece of paper and said, “Change of directions for you Billy. Go to the location on this paper and wait there, your contact will meet you there in less than forty five minutes.”
“Does Mr. White know about this?” Billy replied.
At that statement Cold Bones got out of the other car and walked over.
“Billy, Mr. White is in that car, and he says to obey whatever Mr. Usein tells you. Got it?”
“Yes sir.” Replied Billy.
He took the paper, and looked at it. Usein and Cold Bones walked away, got into the other car and immediately drove off.
Billy looked the map over and turned the car around, heading back the way he came. He picked up his cell phone and dialed Martin to let him know of the change in plans.
“The African just stopped me on the road the turned me around. Instead of using the GPS he handed me a hand drawn paper map with directions back to Picktown. It leads me to a pull off, parking next to the railroad just outside of town. He said that is where I am to meet my contact.”
“OK, follow the directions, I’ll get there to back you up.” Martin replied.
“I don’t like this man.” replied Billy, “You’d better have SWAT there with you, cause I think this is not going to go very well, and I still don’t know what is in this case.”
“Don’t worry Billy, I’ve got you covered.” Martin said. “Go to the location on the map and I will meet you there.”
