The secret to a happy life is contineous small treats! Iris Murdock

I am an imbiber of candy, but not so adept at making it.

I have often used candy to enhance cookies or decorate a special cake for fun. My oldest son has a thing for Harry and David's candy so for his 21st birthday I made a simple home made cherry chocolate cake and all the decorations were candies from that store.
Over the last three years I have been working on my skills with raising herbs and have been considering learning how to make hard candy drops or lozengens with my botanicals and honey, any suggestions?
I am also very interested in learning about sugar coating fruit. I once viewed a movie where the chef hung fruit and then painted it with a liquid sugar coating that then dried on the fruit. I have not successfully accomplished this with the larger fruits.
Thank you for your intrest in my post, look forward to hearing from you!
