"A Member settings link has been added to the Manage Group Content page"
Can you give more detail??
I just shared the overview post here. Take a look at the details and let me know if you need any further info.
thank you. this helps a great deal. i've been too lazy to hunt thru pages and pages of members to find those who constantly post unrelated content to my groups.
On the "my activities" listing of my profile page, when I click on a "more" of a comment made by myself on my own content, it does not go to the comment, the link pulls up the top of the content like it always did.
It's strange that it worked for the comments I made on other people's content, but not my own content until now.
Are you sure you're clicking on the "more" link at the end of a comment rather than the "more" link on the piece of content?
Is this happening from a link in your email notification?
Are you having success yet using the "more" comment link?
Yikes it wasn't me was it?? just kidding....lol
I know I have accidentally posted incorrectly to certain groups before but that's only because it's so tricky picking the groups sometimes.....
You don't have a 3 strikes policy??
Does this improvement also work when you follow a conversation by email?
In the email notification "A comment has been added to the post you're following", there is a "more" link and also a comment number link; neither of which points to the comment that has been added.
Clicking on the "More" button contained in the email notification took me to the top of the post. Clicking on the comment number (27), took me to the top of the comments.
Will this new feature be incorporated into the email notifications?
Please click on the "More" link within the email notification after the comment, not the more link on the post.
That is the link to which I referred- within the email notification.
The "more" link only works for me in a "Someone has just replied to your post comment" email.
It does not work in a "A comment has been added to a post conversation you're following" email; this is where the actual comment number link works instead.
The "more" link for post conversations you are following in email does NOT bring you to the exact comment location. We can't send the "more" link in the follow the conversation notification because we send one of those an hour and it could be for a number of comments. Hope that helps!
The "more" link next to the comment within email notifications should be bringing you directly to a specific comment. The "more" link next to the piece of content being commented on will bring you to the piece of content.
Additionally, the "more" links on your MyGather page under the "Comments By My Friends" should bring you to a specific comment.
I understand that the "more" link included in a "A comment has been added to a post conversation you're following" email notification does not lead to that new comment or any comments- just takes you to the top of that post.
However, is the comment number link, included in that same email, supposed to take you to that new comment? And if not, what is the purpose of that number link?
That number in the 'comment number link' is not supposed to take you to a specific comment. It is the number of comments that the content has when the notification is sent. This number always links to the top of the comments (the comments section) because this is the start of the number of comments for the content. It doesn’t link to the last comment because technically the last comment may be a reply and not the last comment in the thread. It just gives the user an idea of how many comments are in the the thread, and for these messages, you could be receiving this notification because 10 comments have been added in the last hour. This notification isn’t about any one comment.
To summarize:
The "more" link really does not have any new functionality in the email notifications we receive for "A comment has been added to a post conversation you're following".
It does have an improved functionality for email notifications we receive for "Someone has just replied to your post comment", and when used in the "Comments by friends" section of our own homepage .
As you figured out, the "more" links will bring you to the specific comment if that comment was left after the upgrade last night.
Just like anything new, getting the bugs out can be a brain buster.
I will leave a comment when I get to the e-mail notification from your 2: 45 pm EDT time post.
wow!

I'm happy with the changes, thanks.
