Hello. I have some questions about Gather's cash program that I'm hoping admins or cash members could answer. I read the FAQ, but there's a few things I don't quite get. I posted this in the form of an article because I think having the answers available and searchable would be valuable to other members like me.
1. When you reach the 3000 point mark, are you automatically upgraded, or do you have to wait for approval? If you have to wait, about how long does it take? Is it hard to be approved? Do you have to earn 3000 points for a few consecutive months in order to be upgraded, or is it a one time thing?
2. Once you are upgraded to cash, are all of your Gather points immediately converted to cash, or do you only earn cash for for the activities that you perform after the upgrade?
3. If you are upgraded to cash and your earnings fall below $50 for a month, are you downgraded, or do you remain a cash member?
4. Are cash members' cash earnings equivelent to Gather points in terms of value (~1.6 cents/point), or do they earn cash more slowly than normal members earn Gather points?
5. How much do most cash members earn? Any kind of a ballpark figure? How many are there, anyway?

Here are a few brief answers for you...
1. When you reach the 3000 point mark, are you automatically upgraded, or do you have to wait for approval? If you have to wait, about how long does it take? Is it hard to be approved? Do you have to earn 3000 points for a few consecutive months in order to be upgraded, or is it a one time thing?
You only need to achieve the 3000 point mark during one calendar month. You should then receive an email inviting you to enroll in the cash program. You can also opt to stay on the gift card program. It may take a few days for you to get the email though, and this may vary.
2. Once you are upgraded to cash, are all of your Gather points immediately converted to cash, or do you only earn cash for for the activities that you perform after the upgrade?
All accrued points are converted to their cash equivalent once you are enrolled.
3. If you are upgraded to cash and your earnings fall below $50 for a month, are you downgraded, or do you remain a cash member?
You remain a cash member, no matter how many points you accrue in subsequent months
4. Are cash members' cash earnings equivelent to Gather points in terms of value (~1.6 cents/point), or do they earn cash more slowly than normal members earn Gather points?
They are essentially identical in value, and should accrue at the same rate.
5. How much do most cash members earn? Any kind of a ballpark figure? How many are there, anyway?
I don't have any relevant information to address this question.
