Gather question concerning groups

I was wondering, do us, as group owners, get points everytime an item is posted to our groups? I read that in someone else's group and I was wondering when did this start because I missed that one completely.

I had not heard this. I dont think it could be true or my points would add up faster than they are.
Ok I didn't think so, but a group has it written in the description that "by posting to my group, you help me earn points" or something that effect.

I wish someone would post a list telling how many points a person got for doing what! That would eliminate a lot of confusion in that area! Someone ~ go for it! ~

I am not sure either, I have 3 groups and one day I was never on Gather and I earned points. So it was either for my posts or someone went into one of my old articles and posted or rated. So I am not 100%. But if that is true I think you would need several posts in one of your groups to actually get a point. I have a group that is very active and my earnings have not gone up much.

I have no clue, especially since I don't own any groups right now. Hope you find your answer.
I think they do because my points started increasing faster as I added groups. It could be a coincidence, but group owners usually see a jump when their group becomes popular.

I think you get points if someone comment's on one of your articles, but not just posting to your group. If that's true, then someone is stealing all my points and I want them back! lol

Wouldn't it be cool if it did work that way?
I think everybody would have even more groups then.
Of course that would make the points worth less and they would have to raise the amount you need to get a GC. I guess maybe it should stay the way it is.

Stephanie I still don't know how I get dollars now - but I do make about a dollar a day and happy to receive that as I look at this as attending Gather U and have learned a considerable amount about people in general. I've taken enough creative writing classes in my day so not worried about all that but have really enjoyed some of the random musings, recipes and other unique articles and photo essays including yours. I heard someone else mention it once, but I haven't noticed any increase in points from other people posting in my groups... so maybe it's just a small amount. Who knows.

I do not think we do.. I have been gone from gather for days and people posted to one of my groups and I did not get any points for them posting..

Stephanie, I think at one time group-member activity figured into the point equation. I think it has been removed from the algorhythm that awards points or has been so diluted that it is now inconsequential. Of course this is all held in secrecy by gather to prevent people from gaming the system ...

Tom Gerace's comment in his CEO Chat a week and half ago that some are making $1000.00/month on gather only fuels discussions like this, and raises suspicion amongst members. Obviously if his statement is true, then someone is definitely gaming the system and the rest of us are paying for it.
