What's up with all of the writing samples

Yes, I could have just emailed someone - but the reality is that I am not the only person wondering about this.

If they e-mailed the hundreds/thousands of us here and only want 70 the weeding out process will take FOREVER.

I don't think it will affect us, Shelley. At least that is the way I interpret it.

I believe this is just a new opportunity in addition to the usual stuff at Gather...go for it if you are interested, don't worry about if you aren't.

I'm brand new to all of this so I don't have a clue to what's going on. Reading your post made me even more clueless. But I must admit I enjoyed reading it.

I dont think anything else will change.. I just think they want to better the site and recognize others for specific writing.. more like a contest of sorts

Nanci, you're correct! That's exactly what inspired the correspondent program. Shelly, as for those who do or do not decide to apply for the correspondent corps, everything else--groups, points, etc.--will remain as is.
