I tried to wait for some sun today but gave up and ventured out anyway.
First I cleaned all my lenses and asked Pip if he wanted to go with - he was too busy sleeping upside down in the loveseat to bother coming along.

Eddy and Jack were more than ready to go on an expedition.

First stop is the horse yard where it's extremely difficult to keep a lens clean when dirty muzzles keep trying to taste the camera - I got one sweet shot of Blink's gorgeous blue eye.

I noticed something "growing" on the top of the fence posts along the horse yard.

...and I noticed something growing near the fence, I like how the dead leaves from last years growth frame the fragile new plant.

Some seeds from last year still hung onto the weed that most fascinates me - Milkweed. The pattern and textures make such an interesting subject.

Then I was reminded by Eddy I'd paused to long and the milkweed had to be eaten - he sneezed afterwards, I think the soft seed parachutes got caught in his nose.

In the barn we found a nest of chicken eggs and a feather - Jack wanted to eat the eggs but I put them in my pocket.

I noticed the cover on the old fuse box was ajar...

...and the hinge that no longer has a door to hold.

The wind had blown some of the smaller Maple branches off and a cluster of buds lay atop a rock.

I travel everyday but most of the time it is just to my back yard. When I can afford to I shall travel farther and fill my heart and camera with all the images they can hold, but for today the trip is over.

I like your macro lens work.

Laurie - I actually bought Eddy just to be buddies with Jack - when I went out to the herd of goats looking for one that "photographed well" the farm owner thought I was nuts.. LOL. I'm working on a series of children's stories, I never even imagined they would be as close friends as they are - and Chance the grey cat is usually hanging out with them too.
