As promised, it is 11:11 AM here on the East Coast and I am LIVE in spite of my trip to the oral surgeon this morning. It was in his office that I realized what a wuss I truly am. In spite of having endured a natural childbirth as well as an emergency C-section birth (as well as a combined ankle dislocation and broken leg a few years back), the mere THOUGHT of having two wisdom teeth pulled was enough to rouse enough nausea that I felt ready to hurl once the Cherry Oragel hit my gums. Given, Cherry Oragel could be enough to make most people hurl, especially when it hits that "sweet spot" in your craw (thanks, Grandma, for another choice word in my vocabulary), it was particularly sad in this situation being that I've done this once before on the opposite side. I knew what I was in for and I'd been through it once before, knowing that it really wasn't that bad. So, yeah, in short, I'm a wuss.
Oh, but it gets better! Does it ever ... and you fellow Moms will recognize this one. So, a little over 20 minutes after I entered the doc's office, I'm being discharged out into the world with a flurry of precautions and directions being dumped upon my already stressed and overloaded brain (thank God hubby was with me!). Hubby decides it would be best to drop me off and he'd take care of the pharmacy stuff for me. Doc said little pain and swelling since they came out so easy. I wouldn't call it "easy" ... it was rather uncomfortable. And I am swelling ... but anyway. Good deal - I get to lay down for a little while. About ten minutes later I get a phone call from hubby.
"I'll go get Megan. Don't worry about it."
(Remember, one side of my mouth is filled with gauze) "Wha? Why do you haf to get Megan?"
"She puked everywhere. The school just called me."
"Oh, Gawd. OK, well, get her and if I haf to go to the pharmathy in a little while, I can. I just want to rethst for a little bit."
"No, don't worry about it. I'll get her, drop her off, and then go to the pharmacy to pick up your pills. Rest."
Ahhhh, never fails, does it? And just before Christmas, too. So, she's upstairs in her bed, sequestered away from everyone. I made it perfectly clear that she is, under NO circumstances, to spend any amount of time around any of us so we can all enjoy Christmas, even though it may already be too late.
I didn't eat before I went in this morning, so now I'm starting to get hungry and hubby brought me a Frosty from Wendy's so I'm going to try to go eat that. The tummy's grumblin'. I have to take my Tylenol with Codeine ... I am so disappointed. I thought for sure I would get some Percocet. Guess not. He said they don't like to give that stuff out if they can avoid it. Bummer.
I'll be back in a just a short while to catch up on comments, post a few more interesting things, and review a book I just finished this morning (yes, while waiting for my pills). :)

I hope your daughter gets to feeling better really soon especially since Christmas is right around the corner.
I was given Percocet and Phenegren. That combination will put anyone in la la land! Boy, was I happy! :-)
Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! ho!ho!ho!
all of mine were impacted and I had knee bruises on my chest for a week afterward...
you'll feel better soon.
I hate the dentist
Get well soon and have a wonderful Christmas!
(Actually, that Tylenol with codeine is great stuff for the pain!! Hope it works for you.)
Sorry, I have to laugh, LOL! You are too funny, and I've been there!) ;-))
what a day you've had!!!
Read the end of the day article too, and, it doesn't seem to have a happy ending so it's a good thing it's over and done with.
Hope today is much much better!
Terri
By all means you are not a wuss! Believe me! There have been times that I went to the dentist and believe me, it was no fun to say the least! Especially when some A hole gets a hold of you before the sedative and/or pain reliever has had a chance to set in. Then he begins grinding and pulling at your decayed teeth. Makes you want to jump out the chair and knock him out! You have every reason for being fearful when you have to have a tooth pulled and/or cut out of your mouth...
