I want to thank you Gather-Guys
For Reading-In on me
I want to thank you Gather-Guys
Your words are dear to me
I read your stories words and quips
Poems, thoughts and rants,
words that cross my mind and lips
I'm in a language trance!
I've read of struggle and peace
of comfort and divide
I've feared an imaginary beast
have clutched my heart and cried.
I've grinned and laughed and pitched a fit
I've loved and learned and grown
I truely adore all of it
This quality you have shown.
Oh Thank you Gather-guys!
I have ached and have been shaken
I have laughed, and have been satisfied
with The magic you're creating
In a precious sea of words,
I've heard fear and kind prayer
Memories, rage and doctrine
I absolutely love it here!
There's a culture here a startin
Groups, colleagues and friends
There's even a story about farting!
I never want it to end.
To George, Susan, Spence and Jessica G.
To David, Hannah, Nichole and Sandy
To Serina, , Dean, John and Cathy
To Jim, Carl , Cheryl and Mandi.
To Brandon & our mystical mermaid
To Wolfster and Kowboy- fellow
Your words are forever saved
on pages that do not yellow.
To Hope, Aileen, Brad and Kat
I hope I do not falter
To all the other gather -guys that
read John F. Walter.
Imagine a world without "Gathering Rosebuds"
or Nudleman's dog Mattie
imagine missing all the buzz
about "Brokeback Daddy".
Imagine all the words a forming
Imagine a world without "August Light"
or Learning the history of Mormons.
Reading-In on you makes me smile...and tucks me in at night!
I don't now how to thank you
I do not know where to begin
I look forward to embrace you
as I keep on "reading-in".

Wow! How creative was this piece? What a wonderful idea, tribute and beautiful poem. I have had many of the same feelings about Gather. This Site has meant a lot to me and I hope I am able to continue to grow along with Gather as we all move forward together.
I often refer to my "Gather Girls" and with this piece you have just gained access to that group...LOL! I love my girls! Thank you for your kind words and for even thinkin' of the ole Kowboy when you wrote it. I wasn't aware that "Brokeback" had created any buzz....How 'bout that!? Everyone must have been talkin' 'bout how "overrated" it was...LMAO!
I look forward to reading-in on much, much more of you!
