The show overflows with high-profile releases this week, opening with the biggest of big new CD's, U2's "No Line On the Horizon." Also reviewed: Neko Case's new effort, "Middle Cyclone," and the recent various-artists compilation benefitting the War Child foundation, "Heroes," including performances by Beck, The Hold Steady, Lily Allen and others.
Finally I pose the question, "Is there a band that's no longer together that you'd like to see reunite?"
My guests are Mark Wheat and David Campbell.
Musicheads airs every Tuesday at 10 p.m. CT on 89.3 The Current

Not only did they part ways but they down right hate each other. I would like to talk to Mark Farner the lead guitarist about his HATE. He went on to play Christian music but he sounds so hypocritical singing about God but has hate towards his old band members.
Rolling Stone just did a feature on the subject of bands getting back together. I agree with Kari regarding Talking Heads...though it is unlikely to happen.
Another band I'd like to see is Credence Clearwater Revival, though...similar to Grand Funk, it will NEVER happen. All the band members hate each other.
Besides...just like Grand Funk, if Credence played a show, you'd be surounded by a bunch of $#!T-kicking Baby-Boomers from Ham Lake waving American flags and wearing KQRS T-shirts while screaming "Support our troops!" It kinda takes the fun out of it. That's why I'm glad Billy Powell died - all those stupid Lynyrd Skynyrd fans!!
*Ahem* ...But now I'm just venting. Anyway, Credence...
I really miss Urge Overkill, That Petrol Emotion, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, and Pop will Eat itself. The good news is the Figgs are still together. Go Figgs! Go Figgs! Go Figgs! Go!
I had to go with the rumoured Faces reunion...but wanted to ask if you guys think there's a young bass player that could keep up with them, Flea was reported as volunteering but he doesn't seem to be the best fit, any ideas?
Also...this is a weird combo but I would love Paul Simon and Art Garfunkle to do something together again...Simon's lyrics with Art's voice = an amazing combo for the folk loving folk out there.
And this one is for my youth: Smashing Pumpkins. Whether or not you got into the whole 90's grunge alt rock thing, this band made some amazing music together and I could totally go for a good 'ol grunge record again.
If Brad Roberts would sober up and apologize for his Winnipeg Folk Fest meltdown, I'd love to see the Crash Test Dummies put out one more album. Call me a dork, but I'd love to see Journey reunite with Steve Perry and then for the mother-of-all unlikely reunions, ABBA.
I mean...Journey? Seriously?!
Note to K.D.: There is a working version of Poco. Next show 4/24 in SF with Richie Furay and Jim Messina!
My choices: XTC with Andy, Dave and Colin, Kinks (c'mon Dave!), agree on Faces although might be better for Rod and Mac to use The Hold Steady as backup, the Shriekback Big Band, and can we PLEASE get The Pogues with Shane here????
Of course!! How did I forget them?
Awesome. My flatcap is waitin' for'em! Oy!
Matt...I too would love to see a Jellyfish reunion. They were GREAT & a hugely influencial band!
Allen, I'd LOVE to see the Suburbs back together as well, but the last time they played (that Summit Beer Anniversary concert on Harriett Island) Beej wasn't there...it isn't really the Suburbs without Mr. Chaney. Locally, I'm dying to see a Run Westy Run reunion!
Another band I'm gonna throw out there are the True Believers. An Austin Texas supergroup featuring Alejandro Escovedo, his brother Javier Escovedo along with Jon Dee Graham. They had a massive 3 guitar assault and sounded like a runaway locomotive. It would be saw to see them get back together!
The Hang Ups.
