3rd Grade and Murder

This has really stumpped me. Y'all know what I'm talking about right? The plot that the 3rd graders had come up with to kill their teacher.

I look at my own 8 year old and think "how does that happen?" I mean how DOES that happen? Where does the idea come from. I do shelter mine a bit, but did the parents of those kids do the same? I am just floored about this.

I too wonder. Kids can get carried away and behave meanly. But this is over the top ... even for emtionally disturbed children.

this is nothing new. when i was in 4th grade,kids said that if they could,they would stab me and they also said if they could,they would kill our teacher

This is bad. When 3rd grade students see and hear so much violance they think that is the only way to handle any problem they have. It is so sad

thats what I am saying...
It is bad enough that there are crazy adults out there...
I just feel for teachers because I don't think that they get the respect they deserve. And when they have to punish a kid, they should be able to get the support of the parent. (I mean really, its what? Sitting out playtime!) I don't think they do get that support.
It is scary that this even happened.

Not sure the children are sheltered. Did you see the child at the center of the controversy on national tv giving an interview? Can anyone say EXPLOITATION?

I heard about this and I can't believe that kids this age were plotting something like this. It is just so sad.
