March, whatta month. Plenty of us were grooving on SXSW. One of us gave up listening to specific music for Lent. Some of us just blow my little mind.
Let's get good into April! Here's what would be stacked under the turntable arm, if we still had a working turntable and these were albums:
Adapt or Die: Ten Years of Remixes
I love me some Everything But The Girl, and while none of these really surprises me (although IMHO here Corcovado is better than other versions) I'm still digging it. Maybe I just like to hear the "playing with music" or the production stretches. Maybe I just plain like Tracey's voice. Maybe if I get a strobe light, just maybe I can have a laid-back dance party in the living room.
August and Everything After The Counting Crows
One day I heard this at the coffee shop – and then two days later heard it at home - and thought, "Well, it doesn't stink." Without incessant airplay it is actually quite enjoyable ... in moderation. Secretly I hope it doesn't get the Brandi Carlile treatment at home.
Glow from The Innocence Mission
While they've probably done better work with "Birds of My Neighborhood" that album has more of a days-getting-darker-temps-getting-colder feel. Glow makes me want to drive to open spaces, pull in some bracing clear air, and absorb more of the promise of life...just in time for a little more Spring.
What are you listening to?

Houston band. They are actually playing this Thursday at Warehouse Live! I am so excited! Check 'em out!
The Kills - Midnight Boom
Despite what 2/3 Musicheads had to say about it, I agree with Mr. DeVille in saying that it's a darned good record.
We Are Scientists - Brain Thrust Mastery
Available only as an import from the UK so far, but the Mrs. had to have it. It's not as raucous as "With Love and Squalor", but there are some good tunes on it.
Sons and Daughters - This Gift
Heard them on The Current and caught some of their SXSW "in studio" for TC, and fell in love with them.
Also, have been boning up on Eels, as they're coming to town on Monday night at Pantages. Should be an interesting show. E tends not to stick to his arrangements from the records, so it could get weird.
And, as always, a little trip through iPodLand for April:

Interesting trio mix, Deb.
Have fun at the Eels, Auntie! Why must you tease us with the music you can't divulge?! *grin*
That's a good blend, Aunt Boni H. This world needs more Buddy Holly IMO.

Julia, the reason I'm a tease is that I just completed my latest mix, "Auntie's Medley Vol. 4", and don't want to give away the tracks I picked.
