Does anyone have a 8 year old girl? Seems like my child changed this year. She is a good kid but she is really trying to test the boundaries. Is this normal?
I have a 26, 2 22's, and 16 and yes, that's about the right age! Sometimes I think it's a school thing (I'm a homeschool advocate) cuz I think maybe they get the impression that their teacher is all knowing and their parents are dumb...
I know! Its like a power struggle. Also sometimes I think she gets mad because a couple of her friends aren't punished for being rude or disrespectful, but she does get in trouble for it.
I was homeschooled in high school. I said I wouldn't homeschool mine, but my views have changed a bit now that they are older.
School is different now compared to when I was young. There is a lot of pressure.
I have a 9 year old and we have been going through this since last year. She is testing your boundaries! My daughter is entering that tween age, not yet a teenager and not a little girl anymore. She is confused about what she is and I think by testing those boundaries they figure it all out. Good luck, I know it isn't easy some days.
My great grandaughter just turned 10. She is doing the same thing. She gets grounded for doing things she knows she is not to do. Like cross the busy road down from her house. Her friend was going so Kiela went with her.She doesn't understand that her friends can do things but she can't rules are rules
it is very normal for them to reach many crossroads and this is one. And I totally disagree with the homeschool mom......kids need to go through the social steps with other kids!!
