One of my all time favorite quotes is... "The difference between a mad man and me is I'm not mad." --Dali' That brings me to my painting "A father's Wish" I'm constantly explaining to people that it is not just an insane jumble of images. Here is the meaning behind the madness. The painting depicts a baby crawling through a delapitated castle, following a ship ( sailing through the sky towards a giant gum ball machine and Ginesh. The ship represents a dream, the castle represents obsticles, the gum ball machine represents joy and Ginesh (the hindu god of prosperity) represents prosperty. So the meaning is.... If you follow your dream, no matter the obsticles, it will lead you t
o joy and prosperity.

The first time I heard of Dali. But I agree with following your dream which lead to joy and prosperity.
Seriously though, did you make up the interpretation first and then try to paint it or did you paint the painting first and then invent your interpretaion around it.
