I think it is ridiculous that this little girl got suspended for hugging her friends. What kind of a message are we sending our kids?? Hugging is a good thing...I can understand no kissing..but hugging is like you said donna HUMAN NATURE!!!!
oh please don't get me started on this subject i wrote and article last year about this same issue because my 5 yr old got suspended from kindergarten for touching another girl on the arm in line because the school says there is a no touch policy.pleae they are 5.i could see if it were inappropriate touching but not like this and girls will be girls.i remember hugging my friends in school.
I think that things have gotten way out of hand when it comes to what is allowed and not allowed. If a child is not allowed to hug others, how are they supposed to learn to love one another! It is no wonder there is always so many fights and prejudice in the schools! People just need to get a grip on themselves and let kids be kids!
So, let's take it a step further down the road of this insanity. Football will now be played where all the linemen need to do is look at the ball carrier to make a play on him. In baseball, you can no longer tag someone out. In basketball, you must stay at least 2 inches away from the person you are guarding. Touching him is a foul. No more wrestling. No more high fives in doubles tennis. No more shaking hands when a match is over.
This is sick stuff and teaches our children nothing about friendship, good manners, respect.
Crazy stuff in todays world,...just as crazy is the boy who was charged with sexual assault for smacking a girl on the butt,...this I believe was a 5th grader just playing around,...then the parents wanted to sue,...and so on & so on,........ it's kinda the damned if you do,..damned if you don't,....crazy all around.
It is so sad that it has come to this. There was a little boy at one of the local schools that got suspended because he hug his teacher. They said that it was sexual harrassment. Simply because he is naturally shorter than her and you can just imagine what part of her body his head was at.
There is nothing wrong with what the girl did, she showed compassion as a friends mother passed away, so she hugged him. Nothing wrong with this, she was comforting him, as I am certain others have done and will do!
This is really sad, we are teaching young people nothing, no wonder most of them are so messed up.
Ridiculoous! Outrageous! Insane! And they wonder why so many parents want vouchers for private schools where saner minds prevail or even opt for home schooling!
