I am me, and my world is my own.
Mine is a world filled with crayons and diapers, onesies and ever-sweetly sticky fingers, tantrums and smiles, 'I wuff you's and 'I sarrey's'.
I do my job not merely for the outcome, not for a paycheck, but for the process. I get to see it all. I catch the first smiles and laughs and rolls, and by extension the first losses and hurt feelings and tears. I apply the bandages and pull them off 1-2-3-go! to minimize the pain of removing that top layer of tender flesh. And my quick kiss can dull any sting.
I cry when they cry, I laugh when they laugh, I work while they sleep, I get frustrated when they don't listen and wonder how on Earth I'll ever get through another day with them. But of course, I always do.
I dream bigger dreams for them than I ever dreamed for myself.
I am mom.

the job of being a mom and being there for kids is perhaps the most important job in society...if kids get what they need perhaps they will not later turn to drugs and crime..let us hope.
i think we need to remember each difficult day that while we do not get our thanks today, in the future there will be a lot of kids looking back on their childhood and remember someone being there for them and feel good !
My son informed me that I'm not as smart as I think I am, and that I'm definately not as smart as he thought I was....oh well... I hear I get smarter when he turns 21 or so...he,he,he
You are mom.
Cheers!
