Sorry about that link. I initially typed farmersmarket@gather.com, realized my mistake, deleted the "@" and replaced it with a ".", but apparently the hyperlink stayed put. Entering farmersmarket.gather.com in a browser should work, but I'll see if I can edit the article to fix that.

It's up there now! I initially didn't send it there thinking "anyone on the Farmers' Market group page doesn't need this article" but forgetting how helpful the link is. Sorry for making this so user-unfriendly!

I love farmers' markets and shop them weekly! I've joined! Is this group going to be one more place for people to put their recipes, or is it really going to be dedicated to discussing farmers' markets? I may drop out if it is just one more place where people publish the same recipes that filll my mailbox from other groups.

Hi Dorine,
Thanks for joining! I would love for it to be a place to discuss farmers' markets. I'm okay with recipes that feature farmers' markets produce. The reason I started it is that I love going to the farmers' market each week and I would love to hear what other people buy and how they use it to hopefully allow me and everyone else in the group to get more out of their experience. So anything that can enhance someone's farmers' market experience is great by me! Hopefully you enjoy the group!

Thanks Theresa - we had a Friday Farmer's market for years right by where I worked - but that closed this year - I have another one on Saturday a.m., but don't always get there early enough - I will sign up - hopefully people will have more locations to share too -

I just read in today's paper that Hilo will soon have another Farmer's Market in the parking lot of what used to be a supermarket at one time and now houses several businesses.

This one will be open/active on Saturdays only....at least in the begining. I will make it a point to go and visit after it is up and running!

Nice idea for a group. I love my nearby farmers market. It was closed for about a year and I'm so happy it has a new home.

I love the healthy image of the farmers market and the enthusiasm in the crowds. Those who truely appreciate good healhty eating and cooking. Oh.. I just want to meet THAT one woman.. 40 something.. no children... just the avid gourmet. Plus for the import from whatever country that brings her cultural heritage inevitably to her table inviting that American.. well.. someone that happened to grow up in America but with an upbringing in an extended family household of immigrant grandmothers from the 1920's.. Italy.. I'm looking for that educated person for intellectual and creative adventures..
