Krista speaks with Salvadoran-American scholar of religion and social change, Manuel Vásquez. United States involvement in Latin America has long had a boomerang effect in terms of politics, trade, and immigration to this country. Vásquez believes that in the global age, religious dynamics back and forth across the Americas may have equally dramatic consequences. By the year 2050, 20 percent of the U.S. population will be Hispanic. We explore how religion will shape that development and how religion itself might be changed.
