When I first received a copy of You The Owner's Manual, updated and expanded edition, I will admit that I was quite overwhelmed by the size of it. Nevertheless, as soon as I began diving in to this enormous book of knowledge, I realized that the authors Michal F. Roizen, M.D. and Mehmet C. Oz, M.D. had done a splendid job of guiding me through my body and my health.
Some of you might already know Dr. Roizen and Dr. Oz from their appearances on Oprah, and if you do you probably know that these two doctors really do know what they are talking about. In You The Owner's Manual they treat the body like a home, and they want us to take as good care of our bodies as we do of our homes.
You The Owner's Manual will give you a way to look inside your body and discover things about it, you never knew existed. It will give you a way to redefine your body in the way you perceive it, and the book will provide you with tools to make your body healthier, stronger and younger.
The book starts out with a test of your body knowledge. My result was 26 correct out of 50, which put me in the 16-29 point category for which the prescription was: "Take the next 371 pages and call us in the morning."
In between the chapters of body knowledge, you will find cartoon-like drawings, which will make more sense of the intricate details.
You The Owner's Manual also includes The Owner's Manual Diet, a 10 day trial diet, where the focus of food has changed to the good it can do for you. The emphasis is not on loosing weight, but it is instead about making you feel healthier and it offers plenty of great recipes.
If you would like to learn more about your body, and learn how to take care of it in a way that will make you feel healthier and younger, this is definitely the right book for you.

I have to say I was impressed with the book, once I got over the cartoons and the simplified writing, I will be trying out some of their recipes next week - psst, don't tell the BF it's good for him:)
Rose, I won't tell your BF:) It's funny I sneak veggies into the meals for my kids (and my husband).
Sounds good!
