This is the 13^th book in Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series. This time, Stephanie, Lula, Grandma Mazur and the gang get embroiled in the disappearance of Stephanie’s ex-husband. Dickie is believed to be murdered and Stephanie is the main suspect. As she tries to solve the mystery of his disappearance, she becomes the target of a flame-throwing assassin. Exploding raccoons, and trying to track her grave-robbing bond jumper in the dead of night in the cemetery are only minor annoyances in Stephanie’s newest adventure.

Susan - I always love the Stephanie Plum novels, although they are pure entertainment. I think they are getting shorter and a little more "slap-dash" with each one she writes. I don['t think her latest ones have been quite as good as her earlier ones. BUT - I still laugh out loud!

I enjoy the series. Great for a healthy belly laugh. I agree with Linds R., however.The newer novels appear to be more formula and predictable. But I will probably be looking for the paperback when it is available.
I hope that Joe has a key role this time.
