I was just showing off my feathered card from you to my artist friend, Becky, on Sunday. I've been slowly working on my own cards but have not created the ONE for you...as none of them so far meet the standard I have set for you.
This one pleases the eye in every way and I love the expression " A feather of memory."

hahahaha - oh. and a thank you too, Janny. not to worry about time... or "the ONE". i know how those things work. i'm not worried. just be having fun.

...and thank you too for "showing" off my work to your friend. sometimes i find it surprising how often i return to feathers. well. . . it's not always surprising... just sometimes. ...i like that phrase "a feather of memory" too. - thank you for the featuring. be having fun today. it's a good day for fun, yes. aloha.

You really do have a nice crisp style, with nice earthy colors and interesting subject.
I like the idea of trading cards. The small size makes it affordable and gets your work out and about.

thanks Lance L. - ATCs (Artist's Trading Cards) have become a very strong format across the planet. there are trading/swapping sites and communities built specifically for them. what i like is that this format - and Mail Art in general - brings art back to a human being level rather than an institutional level. the institutional level is okay but i like art at the human and personal level too - and for all people, not just those who are steeped in the language of art. anyone can participate in the area of ATCs and mail art in general - so plunge in. it'll make going to your mail box fun again. people from all walks of life, skill abilities, ages and nations are involved. if this intrigues you, and you would really like more info, let me know and i'll send you some sites to look at... or just google ATCs or Mail Art. thanks again for looking and your comment. have fun. aloha

thank you Carol P. i have to admit i've liked feathers... okay and a number of other things - like rocks - for a long time. knowing a subject - or wanting to know a subject you like - is a great place to work from in your art. sharing what we do - i like that too - i find that it inspires and generates new ideas in all sorts of ways. so i encourage you to join in. i do work in a variety of materials and ways - however i like that you see this as related to southwestern styles - i've always like that style and yes, in fact i've had that kind of observation from others too. cool. have fun. aloha

I always love the compositions with feathers. Something about feathers touches deep within my heart.......like past life memories.

aloha Mona - cool and thank you. i like that you picked up on the sense of floating in this - i like that because to float means there is a sense of space and that is definitely one of the things i go after in this. ...of course i like to play with that space too - cool!
