My first commission from my web site. . .Yaaaay!

I've been painting for 30 years, but everything I've ever sold was to someone I knew (family, friends, co-workers). A couple of months ago I decided to market myself by creating a web page to showcase my paintings (www.freewebs.com/davywiz), as well as put an ad on Craigslist. I finally got an e-mail yesterday from two pilots who wanted me to do a painting of a plane for the owners of that plane as a Christmas gift. They signed the contract today and gave me my required one-third down as a deposit. . .it's official!. . . my first art commission from someone I don't know! I'll post progressive pictures of the painting as I go along; I've never done a plane before and I'm looking forward to the challenge of doing such a detailed piece.

I remember my first sale and first commision. I floated on wings for a couple of days at least. I can not sit stil here just wanting to celebrate with you.
yes the Internet when working as it should is a fantastic tool for democracy - it allows almost anybody tools to get in contact with almost anybody.
Oh do tell us everything about it - every step of the way.
