It happened the other day too! I noticed it when the new format for selecting groups to publish to came out. Hope it all gets better soon!
In the meantime, you didn't say if you were on dial-up or highspeed, or mention other sites. I have found a number of sites hard to access in the last couple of days, particularly those based on java technology.
The Gather people like to know any specifics you can give (time of day, etc) to help them debug this -- keep a journal if you can and let them know. It will help all of us.
Good luck!
Try cleaning out your' files.
Go to 'Start'...followed by 'All Programs'...next, to 'Accessories...to System Tools...select 'Disk Clean-up'...when he 'Select Disk' window turns up...click 'Yes'...when the 'Disk Clean-up' window pops up...select 'Yes'.
or,
Go to your' 'Tool Bar'...click on 'Tool'...than 'Internet Options'...when the windoe comes up click on 'Settings'...another window will open...click on 'View Files'...a page will open...go to your' 'Tool Bar'...click on 'Edit'...than click 'Select All'...go to 'File' on the tool bar and select 'Delete'.
Since you said you are using Broadband, I think the problem might be with your computer. How big is its RAM and what is the processor (CPU) speed.

Subject: RE: Video sharing in Gather
Xavier,
Thank you very much for reporting this, and I'm sorry for this much-delayed response. I wanted to note that in the aftermath of the latest site upgrade (when we released video capability), there was a relatively high rate of site instability, which resulted in latency and slowness. If you don't mind, could you give me an update on how the site is performing for you these days in general? Has the slowness improved over the past month?
Best,
Chuck McGuire

Something is going on. I thought it was IE.
We get so much Gather mail, it would naturally take longer to load than it did in our pre-Gather days.
Be sure to do Disc Clean-up daily and Defragment when your computer tells you that you need it. You'll gain some spead there.
You can check with your server and have them evaluate if you have a browser problem, which they will help you reset to get better service if needed.
I am still on dial up so I always figure that is the speed problem.
Some day I will will say good bye to dial up and move on up to some speed.
