Besides tealight candle holders, I also design and craft wooden wall plaques with sea shells and sand.
This particular design is made on an all wood photo frame for a 4x6 inch photo. The outside dimensions are 6 x 8 inches. It hangs by a twine rope that comes out the back of the plaque and anchors on the front.
Take a close look at the sea shells and the way they are placed on the plaque. They form patterns. The obvious pattern is the curving sea shell pattern that runs from the top left of the inside of the plaque to the bottom left corner. It defines an area that has a coral piece and a clear glass ball (marble). Take a look at the rest of the shells and see what patterns you can find.
There is also a small glass red crab edging its way toward the glass ball. It has its claws up and ready to snap at anything that may come looking at it like it was dinner. It warily siddles toward an opening in the curving shell pattern, keeping its eyes looking up and around for that fish or human who may want to dine on crab tonight.
