This is my first attempt at card weaving. I found the directions on the Internet. I first heard of it years ago when an SCA weaver gave us a tour of his weaving workshop.
Here is the website I learned from. http://www.primitive.org/weaving.htm But there is a gap between how to make the cards and how to do the actual weaving, so I had to guess until I got it right. I also had to rethread the cards and start over 3 or 4 times. I'll probably make that piece into a bell pull when I'm done. Bell pulls were used in Victorian mansions to pull a cord that was attached to a series of bells in the servant's areas, like the kitchen. | |

I think you could make an excellent guitar strap. Use something soft so it doesn't feel scratchy to wear. I just used what I had on hand. I'll probably dye some cotton cordage in nature colors for my next attempt.
