I'm totally grossed out from an errand I ran this morning. I went to the Wal-Mart Superstore by my house to return an item I bought last week. Now I realize this is a store for the masses and I shouldn't expect any fancy treatment or stellar customer service... none the less, my experience was beyond ordinary...
I took my return item to the greeter just inside the doors. (The greeter checks the return item and puts a return sticker price tag thingy on it) The young man at the greeter station tried to scan my item with his handy laser scan gun, but it didn't work. He smiled and admitted he had no idea how to work it. His smile displayed the blackest, most rotten teeth I've seen in a while, even the very front ones, and he wasn't more than 20, poor kid. He calls over his supervisor, who re-scans the item while chomping loudly on a big piece of gum, and it worked. Her hair was so greasy and dirty I was amazed. I left Black Teeth & Chomping Greasy Hair and headed for the Customer Service Return Counter.
The gal at the Return Counter had black stuff all under her fingernails. It was awful. She also was chomping loudly on a large piece of gum. She managed to count my money back to me between chomps, and between some nasty sneezes.
Now I don't know where the heck to shop for everyday type items.... but I'm afraid to go back there!

Cutomers service is a thing of the past.
I guess personal hygiene isn't a requirement at that WalMart! EWWWW
Hee hee... summer help? I know what you mean though, employees should be somewhat presentable, and the gum chewing should go... that's me though.
Ewwww. I've had at least 3 different greeters not know how to work that scanner thing.
I have boycotted Wal-Mart for years. The way it treats its employees. The family's right wing politics. The lack of customer service. The long check-out lines.
I feel bad, I mean, I'm not snooty or anything, but there's just limits...
Wow! I have never encounted anything like this at any Walmart I've been into.
Me either. This one is brand-spankin' new, too...
never seen that. no one takes pride in their job anymore. now, when i worked at wal-mart, if i came to work like that i would had been sent home to clean up.
I worked at a store like Wal-Mart and we could never look like that or chomp gum.....
i was always told that when in public service, look the part
It's the customers at Wal-mart that scare me. I hate going in there!!
Hey, wait a minute.... I'M a customer...
LOL - sorry.... The "normal" customers don't scare me.
Actually.......How would I know there were scary customers if I didn't go in there myself?? hmmm
