I check the queue every 30-60 minutes depending on whether anything is happening in my real life.
I only check for the articles posted on Monday. Other moderators check on the other days.
Monday is always a humor theme with, sometimes, a sub-theme, like today it's politics being President's Day.

I moderate this group every Monday.
Several of the other moderators do these updates (not sure who started it) and I stole ruthlessly from their idea. Not a promise I'll do it every week. Depends on my schedule that day, and I am trying to do what I can to build the audience for humor.
