A visit to Heartless Bart's
by: Kristen D.
If you ever visit Jakarta, the best place to hang out is at "Heartless Bart's". The atmosphere imparts a particular flavor apart from all others. There are several rather artistic characters who can frequently be seen. And, of course, when there's a party, nothing on earth would keep any of them away.
Bart and his partner, Marty, are bartenders. And for parties they will always be smartly dressed in tartan uniforms. And after making sure there are plenty of artichokes set out with the tartar sauce, they open the doors to welcome their illustrious guests.
The first to arrive, getting the party started is usually Art the cartoonist. He specializes in Martian cartoons, but does Sand Art on the side as well. Many of his artworks decorate the hearths of his friends.
Next in come the twins, Martina and Martinique. Though articulate conversationists, they can be very tart. Best to befriend them after they've indulged in at least 2 or 3 cartons of ice cream.
Of course, it would be no party without Martin the Spartan. He is most partial to the subject of himself and can be quite a braggart. But part of the time he can be convinced to depart from said subject ans smartly engaged in a game of darts. (The darth Vader dart board hangs from the ramparts at Bart's.)
And last but not least, there is Martha. Dear Martha, unfortunately, is not very smart. She works at Carter's Mart selling charts for arts and crafts by the cart load. She really is a sweetheart, but at Bart's, well, just don't let her partake of any strong drinks. (The last party she drank a quart of rum and 3 martinis. Then she started doing cartwheels over the tables and lost her garters!!) She can only handle Sweet Tarts and sodas. On a good night, she entertains everyone by trying to barter articles of Art'sart for quarters.
So before your visit to Jakarta ends and you take your departure, make sure you charter a side trip to Heartless Bart's for the best party in town!

Glad you enjoyed it Ernie ;-)
Mary, yes I am notorious for "cutting it close", lol..... any suggestion on how to fix the spacing??? I'm still trying to figure it out. It doesn't look like that in the editor thing, and I have no options to change the type or spacing or anything :(
Thank you Lynn and Ima :-) !!
And thank you Barbara (and congrats to you too!!) LOL I only do that so its obvious it isn't part of the story, lol :)
