it's been so windy that we've put up a few storms on our porch, so that we can continue to dine out there. it is lovely, truly. there is nothing like dining al fresco. the screens keep out the bugs but let us feel the wind, smell the lake, hear the ducks, and see the human and non-human activity on the lake.
and we've had some gorgeous evenings...pink sunsets, glowing for hours, it seems, although the time flies so quickly and then darkness swirls her cloak around us.

one morning this week, i woke up early and could not get back to sleep (alas!). i wandered out to the living room to check the lake and the sunrise was stunning. there were dark grey clouds, interspersed with a bright morning sun. it was worth getting up for, although i'd have preferred to sleep.

the beauty of water never fails to amaze me. it is calm, stormy, wavy, choppy, tempestuous, smooth, buggy, rippling, still except for jumping fish ripples...the moods of the water, in all its forms, make me happy.
