lately when we've been kayaking at sunset, we see the most gorgeous patterns in the end-of-summer lilypads. they have holes and tears in them. yet each one is perfect in its own way.
when i look at the holes in them - nature's lace - i was reminded of my favorite robert frost poem:
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leafs a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

These are very beautiful shots and nice comments to boot. Where are the frogs that are supposed be on the lilly pads?
My favorite line is:
" Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day. "
Its words eloquently speak of lifes cycles, of course, but I have never seen it as the day being the lessor of morning. That is an incredible observation. You have some considerable talent here, I hope you contine and compile it into a book someday.
thank you!!
Light is what makes beauty show true
I wish I could go kayaking with you!
