Nothing inspires me to write like a sink full of dirty dishes.
Seriously.
I can be pondering the articles I have in my head and just give up for a while, then go to attack the dishes and it's like an epiphany!
Anything to avoid a bit of real work.
I started off this morning waking up kind of late.... well, getting up late, actually. I was awake enoug to have gotten out of bed at any time during the night or early morning. So I finally succomed to the sunshine streaming in and figured I'd answer a few e-mails before heading out to rake ready the garden (to accomade some really great llama poop.)
Well, that was the plan.
I read and responded to some e-mail, checked out a few Gather posts and really wanted just to stay and read all morning...... but no, I had a garden to tend and the temperature was going to plummet in the afternoon. So I made the necessary calls to various doctors and friends, cooked my husband some breakfast, got tempted back to Gather, wrote a bit about a cool touch screen technology that really reminds me of Star Trek, Next Generation, and changed into some work clothes.
Guess What?
It was 10:30 by then (yes, still in the morning) and the temp had decided to drop early. No way I'm raking my garden in 28º weather and the snow blowing all over. RATS! When I got up it was 45º and sunny. Gotta love northeast Ohio!
No matter, I have so much to do around the house as I've been busy this week and haven't touched any chores since last Friday! But what am I doing? Why, sitting at the keyboard typing to you, of course, revealing my inspiration for writing!
I'm trying to pull myself away, turn up some really groovy tunes that are impossible to sit still to and clean up in here before I have to be chauffeur again at 1:30. How much do you think I'll get done? I mean, if I get started now, I'll only have to stop again and ruin the momentum. No, best to wait until I get back from my errands this afternoon.
Ah, sweet procrastination. It's the inspiration for all my best work!
Hope this finds you groovy!

searchin for my lost last best second thought!
Some people say my computers to blame
But I love it (da da da da dum)
It's my own damn fault.
Turned off my 'larm clock
PUlled open my my lap top,
I aint movin' - now that's plain to see
There's clothes in the hamper
But I won't let them damper
My recent surge of cre - A- Tiv -A Tie - - - -
Yeah yeah yeah-so this sucks - -who cares??? haha! Go ON you finish this one girll.....
Alas, I must leave for my errands in ten minutes! But it's been so fun.......
Let's see,
I fill up my thermous
Turn up the furnace
Sit right here in my old antique chair
I'm with my blue iMac
A big retro throwback
But it's so nice here at Gather to Sha-a-are!
C'mon someboey, help us out here!
2.) Hey - yesterday you had a virtual heatwave didn't you? THAT was the time for llama-licious garden work
3.) I'm with you in lovin' the lyric thing - I mean who would have thought:
" Wastin away again n Gather-ritaville" . . . but even beyond that, "searchin for my lost last best second thought" is absolutely inspired!
Ka-Ching!
KR, did you ever notice therapist is spelled the rapist?
I point that out to mine all the time...... he just loves that!
It depends on what your uses are, I see!
Some use it to grow special mushrooms, which have been rumored to have expanded early human consciousness so we could de-volve into us!
Besides, Carl, I get the llama poop delivered free! And my friend and I have fun shovelling out the back of her truck. I adore the fresh aroma and the cute pellet-shaped turds, which spread like fine chocolate over my garden.
But, you saw it here, folks! Carl wants us to give him good old fashioned cow crap.... anytime! You asked for it, Carl!!!!!
:)
Cathy - I'm so glad you wrote this today. I've been traveling between dress fittings to furniture stores to GATHER to writing my term paper to folding laundry to GATHER to finishing the term paper to GATHER.....
I honestly think that it's the only thing keeping me from spontaneous combustion at this point....but my dishes are still dirty....
P.S. My FIRST thought was of Donna and those Trisectites!!
;-P you guys are weird
Whatchoo talking about?
Lori, Trisectites are a great subject......maybe for your first post?
Llama poop is not going in my backyard, but my garden! (and my shoes)
I procrastinate too, and just don't fight it,
I'm in North East Ohio, just like you,
Nice in the Summer, Spring I like too.
Fall can be iffy, and winters are wilder,
Think I'll Winter in Florida, where temps are much milder.
Next year I'll go South, Each winter I moan,
Next winter comes and I'm chilled to the bone.
Keep putting it off, as procrasti's do
Soon I'll be in my garden, when Spring is new.
Keep the good stuff coming...
This is the best description of procrastination I ever heard of. Well done! I can relate on many different levels
Ron, lovely verse, Dear!
You have llamas in your backyard?
Those the rapist jokes cracked me up.
hehe, I am a world champion 'planner' too. Marshall shoulda had plans like i have!
Feeling groovier the more I fart around here reading all this groovy stuff..
