Moderation is defined as the ability to exercise restraint, to avoid excesses. It seems that a few Gather members far exceed the limits of moderation when it comes to the number of groups they belong to, the number of friends in their circle and the number of articles, and images they post per day. There are some who belong to more than 400 groups, have over 4,000 'friends' and post dozens of items per day. What is the point of all these excesses? Points? Money? Prestige? To much spare time? I don't know the answer and don't much care. But these people tend to 'hog' an aweful lot of space and time on Gather.
These people are probably having oodles of fun and I don't begrudge them that. I say let them do their thing. However my new group is designed for those of us who prefer to be of a more moderate nature. Those for whom too much is too much of a good thing. So I have set up a new group especially formatted for them, a group with limits.
Here are the rules:
1) Post whatever you like as long as it's in good taste.
2) The group is limited to people belonging to no more than 65 groups
3) Membership limited to people with no more than 125 'friends'
4) Limit - 1 article, image or video per day.
So those rules should accommodate almost everyone - almost, not quite. Sign up today and let the 'little' voices be heard.

(teasing, but it would be a chore)
I applaud your inventive ideas, initiative and spirit, but I think this group will also be a bit difficult to manage.
I don't even know the number of friends and groups I have. I guess I need to go count them.
Good luck with it.
you've just pushed my group count up one more.
(kidding, kidding. don't care in the slightest.)
I have no idea how many groups I belong. I don't think I have over the 125 friends and I sure don't publish more than one article a day!
I am, as you are probably aware, a firm believer in moderation so this concept suites me just fine! Now all I have to do is set down and put together an article that is appropriate.

I believe in using groups to target the audience that would be most interested in reading a given post.
You must belong to a group to be able to post or send email to others.
My topics are very diverse.
