It is a curious thing - our present state of affairs.
Our first Catholic president didn't fare too well.
We are in a sad place; yet, beyond these illusory borders of consciousness - I see the light...
Peace.
Elizabeth, just post your opinion; there is no actual voting operation apart from our comments.
I wonder whether a big part of why we won't have a female or African-American president is that so many of us think it can't happen that they will vote for someone else because it seems more "realistic."
I wonder whether a big part of why we won't have a female or African-American president is that so many of us think it can't happen that they will vote for someone else because it seems more "realistic."
It may well be that we make it so by believeing it so.
You want to be frank what Senator with only two years of service in the Senate and one terms a state Senator should be considered qualified. Hillary has not done any groundbreaking extrordinary work, her biggest resume enhancer is her husband was president.
Personally, I voted "yes"; and that MAY be optimistic.
I am not really a great fan of HC; I do believe, however, that women will provide better leadership - and the future trend will see greater numbers of female world leaders.
Women's brains are constructed with better communication across the corpus callosum, as it is thicker in the female brain. Women are the world's treasures!
It worked in the UK, so it should work in the US,
the question is who?
wife's "pillow talk" that helped him decide what to do about certain issues. And then
there was Nancy Reagan -- she consulted with the astrologer to help her husband
decide the right time for doing something or for NOT doing it. And, of course, who can
forget Hillary's HEALTHCARE LEGISLATION she was proposing -- without being an
elected official -- neither president nor member of Congress. Thankfully, it was not
passed -- maybe partly because the men in Congress (the majority) refused to have her upstage them.
Remember what we were told when Bill Clinton was elected -- we get two for the price of one? How much of the president's administration was Bill ruling, and how much was
Hillary, we'll never know. So, why not make a married couple be honest: BOTH
campaign as CO-PRSIIDENTS. Actually, the Democrats are pretty much campaigning this way, without saying "We'll make decisions only after we've talked it over."
If Hillary wins, are we naive enough to think SHE'LL be governing alone? Even if she should make her husband "Ambassador at Large," would she not ask him his advice,
after he circled the globe to try to get a thoughtful response. I believe most of their
communication will be by cellphone and by news conferences, if Bill is the "roving
co-president.
But the question now remains: Do we want a recycling of the Clinton Dynasty? We've
already had 3 terms of Bush Dynasty. Isn't it time to give a "fresh voice" a chance.
But just WHO is best qualified of the candidats on both sides is questionable. However,
I'm cynical enough to bellieve the CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY will not choose the
nominees for either party. When we think about what the weather is most likely to be across this country in January and February -- Midwest and Notheast corridor, the most
snow fall of the winter; most of the Midwest population displaced because of floods
and forest fires; Louisana and Mississippi still displaced since Katrina; so many displaced due to tornados throughout the Midwest and other random tornados --
it looks like Calilfornia, the Southwest, and the Deep South might be given the opportunity to be "kingmaker" this time around. Then when the Electoral College
gets through with it November 2008, it's a toss-up who will be made Emperor.
Oh, yes -- add into this equation the machines that won't work right, the ones
PROGRAMMED not to work right, and the ones with power outages due to blizzards.
Our only HOPE is to pray for GOD to rule and overrule in this election.
But I think we still have a whole older population of people who are not ready for change. People fear change.
I am not really thinking 'person' with this; it's the whole gender concept I wonder about. There are so many wonderfully capable women in this country who do not get far in our political system.
I do pray for a change - soon; the universe is always reflecting back to us that which we hold in our hearts.
Peace to each and every one of you...
Fred Thompson hoever may be a good president also,he announced his run recently
I think the more reasonable question is: "Is Ameraca able to look past race or gender when selecting leaders?"
to know I stopped by and read this though.

It's also impossible for a poor person to ever be president again.
We are a nation so divided that anyone who appeals to a region of this country cannot win the majority. It's sad, but unavoidable.
Karl - right on!
Thanks to everyone for stopping by!
Barbie - happy to be staying in touch.
Peace.
