Recently Story Circle Network announced its first set of online classes (www.storycircleonlineclasses.org/classes). This fall, SCN offers five courses:
-Personal Maps and Place as Story, taught by Susan Albert
-Journaling by the Moonlight: A woman's Path to Self-Discovery, taught by Tina Games
-Writing a Healing Memoir, taught by Linda Joy Myers
-What to Keep: An Introduction to Memoir Writing, taught by Robin Reger
And finally, Matilda Butler and I are most excited to offer our class, called "Start Small Finish Big: From Memoir Vignette to Publication, Part 1." The class starts October 2 and goes for six weeks. We'll write and share our stories (memoir vignettes), and post them on our student blog. We'll discuss our writing in weekly toll-free conference calls. Matilda and I will also create video lessons that students can view at their own convenience.
In addition to memoir writing, we'll help students learn to use the Internet to effectively market and sell their own work. We'll study blogging, microblogging, social networks and more and share strategies and techniques to make these work effectively.
In Part II of our class, to be offered during the winter semester, we'll show students how to create and format an ebook. Student memoir vignettes created in the first semester will be included in an ebook, which all students are encouraged to sell. So if you're not yet published, we'll help put you on the road.
It's going to be great fun and truly rewarding. Matilda and I look forward to seeing you the virtual classroom!
