Obama Spokesman Says 'Obama Ready to RULE on Day 1'

The Newsbusters blog reported today that a spokesperson for President Elect Obama has an interesting view of his service to the country:

"The co-chair of Barack Obama's Transition Team, Valerie Jarrett, appeared on Meet the Press this weekend and used, shall we say, an interesting word to described what she thinks Barack Obama will be doing in January when he's officially sworn into office. She told Tom Brokaw that Obama will be ready to "rule" on day one."

Apparently the Obama Transition Team has a much different view of his role once he becomes President than that of the majority of Americans. Newsbusters opined:

Someone needs to get to Jarrett and inform her that American politicians are not Kings and do not "rule" from office. But if this is the attitude of Obama's transition team, what does The One himself imagine he is about to unleash? Could the fears that Obama thinks he is being anointed America's King be far off with this sort of talk flying about?

All of us should extend our support and best wishes to our President Elect. But, submission to a ruler is not a concept that most Americans can understand.

DAMN!!!! RULE this is what happens when others talk for those that should be doing the talking.

I agree Ivan, you can led me, govern me or even screw with me, but there is NO ONE that is going to RULE me! My family [Great-Grandfather] left Ireland so that no one was would RULE him or his children.

This woman is VERY confused, at least I hope she is!

The more he is ready for office in January the better, but his staff should watch what they say. He may have more problems on Day 1 with his own staff and Party, than issues with the country, LOL.

After being ruled for eight years by George W. Bush - I don't care what they call it. The fact is that Obama is more intelligent and competent than George W. Bush. It's a step up that is sorely needed. I doubt if Valerie Jarrett is meaning that he will will behave like a King.

Well, President Bush has an executive order (will try to locate the EO#) which authorizes him, among many other things, to be initiate Martial Law and become dictator.

Nancy Piolosi already stated, during the hearings for the illegal "bailout" that 'we are under Martial Law" and extensively threatened those who did not support the bailout, it would be fully implemented.

I do NOT think she misspoke - I believe it's a continuation of the same empire building, here and around the world, but we will get plenty of EXCUSES and NICE SOUNDING EXPLANATIONS of why he will not or "can not" keep his campaign promises. Deja'vu - GWB!

(when I type my views, many people think I am a pessimist - I am NOT - my goal is to present some facts and ask others to research and make up their own minds) If we live with our head in the sand, we get the government we deserve. We are to blame, not our elected officials, as we give them the power then remain silent.

If this is a sign of things to come, the next 4 years are going to be horrible. Even worse than the nightmares that came with word that the scary Obama had actually been elected by fools unable to see past glitter. People unable to treat our good and decent Preident Bush with the respect he deserves as a mamn who has tried very hard to do the right thing. God bless President Bush and the American people.

To be honest no matter how you word it, it all amounts to the same thing. Whe the president of this country gets his mind set on something we have no real say in the matter. Think about it,The poeple of this country had no more say about our going to was than the people of Iraq did.Even the higher ups who disagreed couldn't stop the presidents decision. I am not sayomg this is always a bad thing, afer all, domeone has to be in charge. I just don't think the terminology matters that much in the end.
