The easy way to earn points:
  • Posting articles earns points. 
  • Commenting on other people's articles earns points. 
  • Having other people comment on your articles earns points.

Oh, don't forget:

  • Join groups.
  • Create groups that others join and post information/pictures to.

Supposedly, Tom Gerace has stated that commenting does not earn points, per se, but participating does increase your visibility to other gatherers, so maybe we are splitting hairs.  Viewing another's content does help with poi nts, as does publishing content that gets seen by others.

Leaving comments is your way to say, "I was here, and I liked what I read, or the Image/video that I saw."

 

pictures and videos are neat too.  Please don't habitually post content which belongs to other people such as other broadcasts.

Having the content posted to groups is pretty important as that is how some people maybe able to find the content in the future.

I think commenting or at least viewing pages does count for points, because sometimes I go weeks without publishing anything new and my points still go up.

I'm still not sure about the commenting not earning points... like Jennifer... I've seen my points increase just when I've been commenting and not when anyone commented on my stuff...

I think your action of viewing content gets you some points, publishing content that other people look at is more effective in getting more points. But the fact that you look at content awards points.
