And don’t start the explanation with “Israel.” Hatred of Jews goes back centuries, way before the modern version of Israel ever existed.
I don’t get it. Racism, while repugnant in the extreme, is understandable on a certain level. When one race is darker or lighter or taller or shorter than another, then those differences can cause irrational - and often stupid - reactions. When uninformed or ignorant people are exposed to any of the above their views of those differences are not going to be, shall we say, enlightened.
But Jews just don’t stand out in a crowd. They look just like everyone else. You can’t walk down Fifth avenue and say, “There’s one!” The Hasidim are, of course, the exception to that rule. They stand out in a crowd, but so do the Hare Krishnas. Take away the clothes, the hair, and the accoutrements from either set and you’re right back to them looking like every other white person on the planet.
Is it the religion itself? I have a hard time swallowing that because Jews practice their religion in private, closed enclaves. Never in the history of Judism have they ever tried to force their religion on anybody, at least not in the past couple of thousand years. They’re not very intrusive, unlike modern Islam and the Christian religion of a few hundred years ago. Correct me if I’m wrong but I can’t seem to think of one single incident where gangs of marauding Jews cut anyone’s head off or crucified someone for not converting to Judism.
Is it the fact that Jews emphasize education and that wealth and success, natural by-products of that drive to educate themselves, are part of their culture? It would seem to me that any race or religion who emphasizes education and success the way they do should be admired, not persecuted.
So...what is it? What is behind the anti-semitism that we see and hear in the media every day? And like I said earlier, don’t even start on the Israel thing. Check your history and read up on the pogroms of early Europe and Russia. Israel wasn’t a gleam in anyone’s eye then.
So, if anyone can come up with a rational explanation about why Jews should be despised the world over the way they are, then do tell. Because for the life of me I’m having a hard time figuring this one out.
Somebody give a copy of this to Ahmadinejad.

I personally can't see why certain individuals have so much animosity towards the Jewish people.
No, not really.
If you'd like to go back to the old testament - they were conquerors, and quite successful ones. If you accept that book as true, there's also the whole "God's chosen people" thing - that has to account for some jealousy.
And if you really think that success is more likely to cause people to look up for you than hate you out of jealousy, you don't know humanity all that well.
Jealousy, because of:
Financial success through a culturally taught thrift and good work ethic.
Respect for their elders, which promotes the strong family unit that the haters are lacking and join racists group hoping to find.
Respect for learning - educated people are frightening to scrubs.
So the Jews are the only comteporaneous group that can bear witness to the fact that Jesus was not worth worshipping.
And the Jews are a reminder that a God that breaks his promise to the jews, in favor of xtiasnity, can just as easy break his promise to xtianity in favor of islam etc...
The miracle of the Jews is that they remain an ethnic group with the first non-pagan faith. The roots of hate could come from their ultra-conservative laws and cleaniness. In ancient times they bathed a lot, studied and were literate, and proclaimed that their people were God's "chosen". They discouraged inter-racial marriage and maintained what some could perceive as exclusivity. These could be roots of hate that got attached to the Jews.
With the beginning of Christian (The Way) faith, Jesus said that the letter of the law was less important than the "Spirit of the Law" and He defined this as God's Love. Well, a people who loved their faith and Torah could not move toward a "freedom" preached by the Apostles. Jesus' ministry threaten the suppremacy of the Torah and the Roman Emperor. Indeed, Jerusalem (and the Temple) was destroyed in AD 70. When the followers of Jesus ran away instead of defending the Temple, the rift was set.
The Christians were rejected by the Jews and hunted as criminals, just as the Romans were doing. Paul, who wrote so many letters now in the New Testament admits that he hunted and denounced early followers of the "Way" until his conversion.
With the dispersion of the Jews from their country, they were immigrants into Europe who continued to resist assimilation. They are God's chosen people to this day. That makes some people angry. I was looking for a church to join, and at one of them, the pastor preached hatred of Jews, wealth, and education! Not my kind of faith which is supposed to be Love, unlimited love, God's love.
-- - - - - - - - - - TRADITION
They hate the Jews because they are Jews = stupid but true.
I don't have any other explanation for the historical persecution that Jews have received, except that they wouldn't allow any other God before theirs. My Christian belief is in that same God, and my secular side respects the adversity that they have endured. I remember hearing my friend's niece, about 10-12 years old, saying "why do I have to be Jewish!"
Heartbreaking.
Martin L., I think you're right that Christians are still mad at Jews for not having converted. And, after all, Jews are infidels to Moslems (but then, so are Christians). I remember reading some tracts by Martin Luther when I was in university. Before, I'd only heard nice things about him. Well, OK, *not* nice things from the Catholics, but *nothing* like this! In the early days of the Reformation, he wrote a tract called, IIRC, "That Jesus Christ was born a Jew." That was full of tolerance and love. Then, ten years later, he wrote a tract called "On the Jews and their lies" which was filled with hatred. When I stopped being shocked, I figured that what had happened to him was not a brain injury, but that he'd (naively) assumed that now that the Jews were seeing Christianity, not through the "dirty lens" of Catholicism but *clearly* for the first time, that they would convert en masse. When that didn't happen, he got VERY MAD.
Christie, I don't think Jesus particularly threatened Torah. (??????) I *do* think that Jews are kind of a thorn in the side of Christianity, though. Not that it *has* to be that way, but that's been the Christian take on it historically.
In sum, I don't like to have to admit defeat, but after many years of trying to figure this one out, I can't. So I'm inclined to agree with Colonel George W.
The danger with him (aside from the nuclear weapons threat) is that if you tell people something long enough and with enough seeming conviction, then some people will begin to believe you.
Look at who is controlling the world right now ... gas prices and whatnot ... who is expanding militarily, and funding terrorism. When I speak to her we get to logical points where she has no rational answer, but she is unwilling to give up her hate.
I do not hate either Jews or Arabs, but I do hate the Islamic system of Totalistarianism that drives this divisive issue to violence and all over the world and inculcates the hatred of Jews, and now the West for standing up for the Jews and other miniorities, and women as in human rights.
This is the last vestige of real evil in the world, and the Third Reich was allied with Muslims from the Middle East (See Grand Mufti Of Jerusalem). The Germans lost and paid the price, the Arab Reich continues on.
> There is no rationality for racism, in whatever form it presents itself.
Morally that is true of course, but all racism or attempts to institutionalize injustice has as its basis economics. A good discussion of this is in the book "The Logic Of Life" in the chapters of rational racism.
I love the Jews, they are God's chosen people and I would not want to be responsible for bringing any harm to His people. Why don't people hate the Islamists? Makes more sense to me.
Satan hates the Jews more than any other race in the world, why does he hate the Jews?
Well 1st of all God gave his blessing to Abraham who would become the father of many nations, Israel is not the only nation that came out of him as he fathered his 1st born Ishmael (the ancestor of the Arabs) with Hagar, he fathered Isaac (ancestor of Israel and Edom) with Sarah and he had more children with the woman he married after Sarah's death.
God's blessing on Abraham was passed down to Isaac who fathered twins Esau (father of Edomites) and Jacob (father of Jews/Israelites).
Isaac had wanted to give his blessing to Esau but Esau sold his birthright to Jacob for a meal and then Jacob tricked Isaac into giving him the blessing which upset Esau.
After the seed of Jacob had moved into Egypt and a Pharoah who did not know Joseph had come into power, the Egyptians enslaved the Israelites (the 1st of many persecutions against the Jewish race).
By the grace of God, Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, but when the Israelites were worshipping the Golden Calf, God wanted to annihilate the Israelites and made a new nation out of Moses himself, but Moses begged God to spare the Israelites, Moses said "what will the world say if the Israelites are annihilated as a nation after you delivered them from Egypt." the words from Moses convinced God not to annihilate the whole nation, Moses had said "whoever is on the Lord's side stand with me." those who stood with Moses survived annihilation but those who did not stand with Moses were killed for their sin.
After Moses sent 12 spies into the land then called Canaan but would later become Israel, 10 gave bad reports but 2 of them Joshua and Caleb gave good reports, loads of Israelites spoke against Moses and God decided no one who was 20 years of age or higher in the group would be allowed to enter Canaan except for Joshua (who replaced Moses as leader close to death of Moses) and Caleb.
Whenever the Israelites were faithful to God, then God blessed them, but if they turned away from God, then he would allow calamity to occur.
For example, Judges were appointed over Israel because God was already the King of Israel, but the Israelites had rejected God as King so then the people told Samuel the last of the Judges to anoint a King, Samuel said God is our King, but God told him, the people have rejected me as King, give them a King but warn them of what will happen, such as taxation and the fact Kings will want a Palace for themselves.
The people told Samuel, we don't care, we want a King we can see, so Samuel said ok, and God told Samuel who to anoint as King, 1st it was Saul from the tribe of Benjamin the smallest tribe in the nation, the family of Saul was the least important of all Benjamite families as well, but God does not see as man sees.
So Samuel anointed Saul to be the King over Israel and he advised King Saul on what to do.
King Saul took the advise at 1st, but then next thing we knew, King Saul was told to wait for Samuel who was slow in coming to make a sacrifice to the Lord, so King Saul decided to make the sacrifice himself, the Lord was not pleased and neither was Samuel.
Next Samuel told King Saul to destroy the Amalekites (at least 2 people from the bloodline of the Amalekites tried to annihilate the Jews by the way, I can see why God wanted King Saul to kill every single Amalekite, even the women and children, because God knew what was going to happen if the Amalekites were not wiped out completely).
King Saul was told kill every single Amalekite, spare nothing, do not even spare the Women or Children either, do not even spare the Cattle or any other animals, destroy everything.
When Samuel told King Saul to destroy everything, Samuel meant it quite clearly, and well some big consequences did occur, 1st of all King Saul did not destroy every Amalekite, he killed all the men except for the King who he wished to ransom for money, he spared the King's cattle too in order to feed the Army.
And if I am not mistaken, plenty of women and children were spared since the Amalekites were not wiped out at all (Haaman and Hitler both descended from the Amalekites, yeah we hear of Hitler having Jewish blood, but a lot of people have no idea he descended from the Amalekites that King Saul was told to destroy).
Because King Saul had again disobeyed the Lord, the prophet Samuel wound up killing the Amalekite King, as it was God's will, and he told King Saul that God was going to choose a better man to give the Kingdom of Israel to.
Samuel went to the House of Jesse (who I descend from), and he was led to King David (my ancestor), who was the youngest and smallest of Jesse's sons.
King David with the help of God, slew Goliath of Gath, and after that became part of King Saul's army, but King Saul later wanted to slay King David because he had the feeling that David was the one who would suceed him as King.
Once King Saul died, David became King of Judah but Saul's surviving son Ishobeth became King over the rest of Israel (as Judah was willing to recognize David as their King as he was from their tribe), war occured between King David and King Ishobeth, by the grace of God, King David won the war so Israel and Judah were once again unified under the same King, and eventually David ruled over more than Israel and Judah, he also ruled over neighboring satellite states as well.
King Solomon did well too as King until he decided to make offerings to false gods, after that God decided that Solomon's son Rehoboam would get Judah to fulfill the promise that David's line would have Jerusalem which was located in Judah, but the rest of the tribes would break off with Jeroboam as King.
Jeroboam decided to buld Golden Calfs in his Kingdom to keep the Israelites from coming to Jerusalem to worship at the Temple.
Eventually the 10 northern tribes of Israel were conquered by the Assyrians and God allowed this because too many Israelites in that area turned away from God, these tribes were then known as the Lost tribes of Israel but I have reason to believe the tribes were never really lost (I also believe descendants did get caught up in the Jewish diaspora with the tribes of Judah and Benjamin, not to mention members of the 10 tribes did go into Judah itself before Babylon conquered Judah).
The prophet Jeremiah had warned the Israelites of Judah that if they did not turn from their sins, God would let the Babylonians conquer the land and take them prisoner.
Jeremiah was one of a few Israelites that were permitted to stay in the land after the conquest but all who got permitted to stay had later fled to Egypt.
The Jewish people went through rough times but Daniel and his friends working for King Nebuchanazzar, managed to help their people out a lot.
The Medes and Persians later conquered the Babylonian Empire but the Jews remained slaves in the land till King Cyrus ordered them freed and said they could return to what was left of Israel.
Not all Jews returned to Israel, some remained in other parts of the Persian Empire, one of those Jews was born Haddasah and when her parents died, her cousin Mordecai took custody of her.
After she was taken to a harem she took on a Babylonian name of Esther to conceal her Jewish identity, when King Xerses looked for a new Queen, she met King Xerses and he favored her, married her.
Although Haddasah was now Queen Esther, she never forgot she was a Jew and at the time an Amalekite named Haaman was made Grand Vizier to the King, Haaman was a man who was so full of himself, he wanted people to bow to him but King Mordecai refused to bow to any Amalekite that was wanting glory for himself.
Haaman wanted Mordecai dead but the only way he was going to pull this idea off was to kill off the entire Jewish race (see why God wanted King Saul to kill off the Amalekites, Haaman was one of them and he wanted to kill all the Jews).
King Xerses gave Haaman the power to order the execution, and the King had no idea his wife was a Jew either.
In that time frame, you could not go before the King unless you were summonded to do so, the penalty for going unsummoned was death.
There was a loophole in the law though, the loophole was that if the King was holding out court and had the Golden Septor in his hand, the person appearing unsummoned would live.
So Queen Esther walked up to the King and as he saw her coming, he grabbed his Septor, showed it and said "do not fear." and he said he would grant request.
Queen Esther said let you and Haaman come to a banquet I will prepare for you, they came and King Xerses asked what the petition was, Queen Esther said come again to another banquet and then I will tell you.
At night time the King had trouble sleeping and the annals were read to him, one annal mentioned the time Mordecai discovered the murder plot against the King and the fact his report spared the King's life.
Haaman meanwhile felt the planned annihilation of the Jews was not enough time to get Mordecai dead so he had a gallows built to hang Mordecai and he planned to get the King's consent.
But as he went before the King, the King asked Haaman what should be done for a man the King wishes to honor, Haaman thinking he was going to be honored, made the suggestion to have the man ride on the King's horse, let him wear royal robes and a crown, the King liked the suggestion and told Haaman to do that for Mordecai, so Haaman paraded Mordecai around wearing the royal robes and Haaman was mocked.
After that the 2nd banquet and Queen Esther told the King, spare my life and the lives of my people, the King was puzzled, and Queen Esther said "we have been sold, not just as slaves, for I would have kept my peace." and she told him no one could compensate for this damage, the King was puzzled and he asked what enemy is this and Queen Esther said it was Haaman, she said "due to his hatred for my kinsman Mordecai, Haaman decreed death to the Jews."
King Xerses was furious and he ordered death to Haaman, and guess what Haaman got hung on the gallows that he intended for Mordecai, after that King Xerses gave Haaman's job of Grand Vizier to Mordecai.
However it was not over yet because a law with the King's seal would not be removed not even by the King himself, so the decree for death to Jews was still in effect, but a loophole was found, Queen Esther and her cousin Mordecai, by the grace of God came up with a plan to prevent annihilation of the Jews by having an edict issued that said "the Jews are permitted to fight for their lives on the day they are to be killed."
Bloodshed was going to happen regardless but at least the Jews would be spared from extinction, even if some were going to die in the fight for life.
When Jesus came along, he established a new covenant, the 1st Christians were in fact born Jewish and some of them had felt one had to become a Jew before becoming a Christian, but Apostle Paul pointed out that a Jew who became a Christian did not have to give up most Jewish traditions and a Gentile who became a Christian did not have to be circumcised at all or do any other Jewish rituals either.
A Jewish convert to the Christian faith was still a Jew but he was now also a Christian and a Gentile convert did not have to become a Jew, he was still a Gentile but now also a Christian.
Unfortunately loads of so called Christians (especially in the Vatican) had decided to solely blame the Jews for the death of Christ when in reality it is the sins of all mankind that is responsibile for the death of Jesus who was born a Jew himself.
Me, you and anyone else reading this are all responsible for the death of Christ, it is not once race that is responsible for the death of Christ, it is all of mankind that is responsible.
Due to the great persecution of Jews at the hands of false Christians, it is no wonder that for a long time Judaic Christianity (Christians who were born Jews) seemed non-existant for a time while Gentile Christianity continued to thrive (although sadly for a long time the number of real Christians in Western Europe seemed small as the Catholic Church was withholding a lot of what the Bible really said from the masses, as well as eliminating tons of Jewish teachings that were very important for a Christian to learn).
In that time frame, true Christians were executed by the Catholic Church for reading, translating and even owning a Bible.
Luckily when the founding fathers of the United States of America had founded the nation on the word of God, although many of the founding fathers believed in Jesus Christ, the founding fathers did not intend to require those wishing to be public servants to believe in Jesus Christ, out of respect for the Jewish population.
At the time of the American Revolution 92% of the population professed to be Protestant 7.2% professed to be Catholic and 0.8% professed to be Jewish (in some portions of America, Protestant, Catholic and Jew were living side by side, even the Catholics of America had disowned a lot of things their Church had done in Europe).
Many nations had been founded as a Christian nation but America was itself founded as a Judeo-Christian nation, America is in fact the only nation in the world to have ever been founded as a Judeo-Christian nation, some people would call America the Western Israel, and I can see why as America is the only country in the world to have more Jews than Israel itself.
After the Romans destroyed the Jewish temple, the Jews scattered throughout other parts of the world including into Europe itself.
Loads of Jews longed to be able to return to the land of Israel, the promised land, loads of Jews were wishing for this whenever persecution was massive for them wherever they lived.
After America became an independent nation, it seemed as if a new Israel was born, so many Jews wishing to leave behind persecution had thought to themselves, ok forget waiting for a rebirth of Israel, we have a new promised land, America is the new promised land for us.
Eventually in due time, the land that was being called Palestine was mandated to the British who began working on plans for a Jewish homeland.
The British Government and Rich Jews from America and Europe paid Millions of Dollars to Arab landowners to transfer legal ownership of the properties so that the Jews could return to the land that was rightfully theirs.
Next thing we knew Hitler came into power, ok I know the story of Hitler having Jewish ancestry which makes the fact he murdered 6 Million Jews puzzling, but Hitler was also of Amalekite bloodline (thanks a lot King Saul for not obeying God's order to kill every single Amalekite, now we know why God wanted every Amalekite dead, even the Women and Children, because Haaman and Hitler would never have been born had King Saul obeyed God).
Hitler blamed the Jews for the fact Germany lost the 1st world war and he also blamed the Jews for Germany being in a great depression as well.
Once Hitler came to power, 1st Hitler expelled Albert Einstein and other brilliant Jews from Germany (big mistake, Germany could have built the 1st Atom bomb but when he kicked loads of brilliant Jews out of Germany, they went to America and they made America the 1st with the Atom bomb).
Hitler also had Jews sealed off in walled Ghettos as well, then he started building the Concentration Camps to imprison and kill Jews and others that Hitler deemed to be enemies and/or inferior peoples.
God did say he would bless those who blessed Israel and curse those who cursed Israel, ok Israel was not yet once again an existing nation in the Middle East but the Jews always have and always will be the children of Israel, so Hitler did curse Israel and he was cursed.
Hitler's Nazis had cremated the executed Jews, but loads of Nazis convicted of War crimes were executed and cremated themselves, the Nazis put the ashes of Jews into rivers and other places where no one would ever find the ashes, well the executed Nazis had their ashes scattered where no one would find them as well.
A Christian pastor was asked on a visit to Germany why God allowed the Berlin Wall to be built and he told the person who asked that it was God's punishment against Germany for sealing Jews in the walled Ghettos.
I know I have written a lot on this.
Seriously, the lack of a homeland has meant that the Jews have had to coexist in so many different societies. And they have prospered. Their existence goes against what most people want to think about people and their homelands. Also, the Jews are the outsiders. They look at things from a generic human sense ... many of them ... and using their tradition of free-thinking and discussion have advocated for human freedom almost everywhere they are. This also puts them at odds with those in power.
In America and the modern West, Jews have thrived and have taken Democracy to the next step.
I am not Jewish, but I do have Jewish blood in my family that I am proud of. What a people, the will to survive, and the goal to serve the world, and succeed. This is in all people, but in order to preserve their culture it is much valued in the Jewish tradition.
The other side of this is that many if not most Jews are secular. It is hardly sensible to think of any people as God's chosen people, or for anyone past a certain intelligence level to buy into much of the propaganda in most religions. Jews are often the most secular people in a country, and even in Nazi Germany, Jews had melded into the society.
First , some fictitious manual published long LONG ago to turn attention from the evils of monarchy and the rich papal lifestyle of the times, and has since been interpretted as fact FAR TOO OFTEN. .
Next over the feeling that they " betrayed and denied " christ. ( although I deny him also and I am agnostic NOT jewish. )
ANYONE, in my eyes, who follows ANY religion is an ignorant minded soul settling for the simple to take answers.
and third, jealousy over those riches and fame attributes that you mentioned they attain thru education and diligence.
SOME of us feel left out or disenfranchised by such success within a single race.
( ALTHOUGH, some also contend that the education had a partner in their success. The jews have been portrayed and defined as having an UNLIMITED drive for that success, even to the use of deciept and miserliness in the face of others in need.
As for me, they are just as ignorant and dependant on others' concepts and mythonolgies as any other devoutist. Be they Muslim, Christian, Pagan, Wiccan OR Jew, the truth of the universe is that there is NO power or force outside of chance and natural development, which guides our destiny and once you die, you are simply compost for the next species to use.
'Nuff said ? ? ? ?
I wont give you the story of Abraham, Sarah, Hagar, Ishmael and Issac. If you want that go to Genesis. Although it may very well help explain a beginning.
First and foremost I would call it scapegoating. As Hitler did with post WWI Germany, as too many do today when their Protestant son who barely managed to graduate school all together gets rejected from Medical School versus the Steinberg kid down the block who studied night and day and got a 4.0 gets in then well they scapegoat rather than face up to facts.
My experiences with the Jewish families I have known have been one of true caring of family and extended family included, rich customs and traditions and where the celbrations, and rememberance of these are known by the adults and taught to the children the true meaning of that day, or event. As opposed to too many of the Protestant holidays that have been overtaken with commercialism. Quiet simply it has been a constant process of instead of facing up to any of my shortcomings or faults let me blame them for being Jewish.
President Truman was faced with threats of resignations from prominent members of his administration if he signed the one about recognizing Israel as the Homeland of the Jews and it had little to do with these people wanting to claim Israel as their own religous birth place than it did with giving any status to Jewish people. Pure hatred, racism, and ignorance. But he signed it. And the threats went away and no one resigned over it.
I have never found anything to hate about the Jewish people as a whole and feel sorry for anyone who does.
Of course, after and during the making of Israel, I believe that is self-explanatory.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabian_tribes_that_interacted_with_Muhammad
Once Israel started kicking the armies of the Arab world, anti-Semitism started entering the Moslem mindset. There were many communities where all three religions lived side by side, from Israel to Iraq, but these communities started to unravel during the 20th century.
I have also been puzzled how they have managed to maintain their unique identity for over a thousand years after their country ceased to exist.
This is actually a part of it. During the dark ages, Jews were involved in the fledging banking industry, providing loans for interest. The Catholic church believed it was "unnatural" for money to reproduce (i.e. collect interest) and saw the practice as sinful. (The theme appears even into the Elizabethan era, note The Merchant of Venice).
Joking aside , I struggled all my life to understand the world view vis a vis Judaism . My family tussled and suffered with this identity and I am not even sure what helped them survive .Some of them perished in Stalin’s Gulags or in the WW2 and I can not sense any trace of bitterness in any of them . “ For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth.” That’s all I hear from them ….
Didn't the Hindu faiths precede that of the Jews?
What major faith exactly DOESN'T believe in hard work, education and all the other attributes you mentioned as being those espoused by the Jewish faith?
Anyway, years ago, when they owned most of the large stores where I lived, but I had very wealthy relatives elsewhere and very progressive and educated, I found them pushy and also, they called Christians polluters of them, well I wasn't jealous, I just tried to help poor white Christians and ignore them and their overly prosperous status in that area.
After all, why be such a hypocrite.
I was one of those Roman Catholics and knew this was unfair, and an insult to most people who became poor and wounded by fighting war after war against just anyone, not for ISREAL or this minority or that one, I think it's just time we stop and let people keep what little they have left after all their hard work and paying the bills of people, who are by their "own" statments- a type of superior, which is denied the average Christian American, that only leads to dislike, OBVIOUSLY, they can't see that, then unlike what you said they are not very social or educated.
That's why so many turns against faiths and towards fair play OR fairness to even the most humble the American white/Caucasian Christian.
In the TORAH {and the Bible} the Jews are God's Choosen People. [Side note: He who wins the war, writes the history.] In the KORAN, they are told that they were cheated out of the Birthright.
This war and all that have involved this region have been based on these two books. I have to agree that this land was Arab Controlled and the GOOD OLD let's stick our noses in UN changed that in 1948. I would be upset if someone just took my land and gave them to someone else, because of a text that they do not even believe in. The wars in this area should not be with Israel, but with the United Nations.
If you would like to check out the story about the birth right it is found in Genesis 27. I don't know why it is in the KORAN, as I have not studied it in a long time.
I've observed that even children will turn against a child who is different. A person who is different and successful, too would get the jealousy thing added. While I think that's better than people who don't like you because of your color or language, it still hurts the same.
are jealous of Jews. They seem to always have been persecuted.
Where I live now I have gotten told about not wearing my Star of David as we have KKK and other white super race folks around here as well.
Father St. John
I am a Christian follower of a Jewish Rabbi named Y'shua who was born of the Holy Spirit and of a Jewish maiden named Mariam! And I love and care for and pray for my Jewish sisters and brothers often! And I pray for the peace of Jerusalem! Amen, so be it!

these are tid bit from the talmud- sounds like a caring giving people to me.
the reason for the long history of anti semitism can be summed up in one word EVIL. its evil to hate any group of people based on the fact that they are a minority.
JEALOUSY---just plain, pure JEALOUSY...The Jews have succeeded in many things, and the ones who haven't just hate the ones who have.
If you read the story of Isaac, a group of non-hebrews were very jealous of Isaacs success and proceeded to destroy his wells. Jews are successful in many areas of life--which make the unsuccessful ones very jealous which eventually breeds hatred of the other person.
In addition, Jews are usually quiet, studious people who are not fighters or at least were. This makes ideal fodder for the bully. Also, the Jews killed Jesus story is still alive and kicking. The other day, in the library where i volunteer, a youngster about the age of 8 found out that i was Jewish. "Your Jewish" he exclaimed. Yes I am, and he retorted "The Jews killed Jesus. Who told you that I answered...The priest at the church. This happened in the year 2009 in the city of New York, USA. Could you believe it. People just need someone to hate and I guess the Jews are a good scapegoat.
