Cube beef roast and braise or slow-cook with carrots and pearl onions in red wine, seasoned with salt and pepper, until tender.
Combine baking mix and water to form biscuit dough. Pour the beef stew and its gravy into an oven dish and top with the biscuit dough; insert small cubes of Velveeta here and there in the dough. Bake until dough is done and cheese is bubbly.
Make another batch of biscuit dough with added sugar. Arrange pitted, halved cherries in a baking dish and sprinkle lightly with sugar; top with dough. Bake till crust is done.
Bake the roast in a 350 F oven for 30 minutes. Add the potatoes, carrots and onions and bake for another 15-20 minutes depending on the potatoes.
Mix the baking mix, water, and the Velveeta, diced into very small cubes. Drop by spoonfulls onto a Pam-sprayed cookie sheet and bake in the oven at 400F just until the biscuits are browned.
Serve the roast and veggies with cheese biscuits.
Dessert:
Slightly soften the ice cream. Slice the cherries in half. Fold into the ice cream. Chill. Serve. Yum.
Perfect, Tina!
Good luck, CnA!
extras: diced potato, brown sugar, heavy cream
In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat oil. Brown cubed roast. Add a little water and salt and pepper. Simmer roast 1 1/2 hours. Add carrots and simmer another half hour- add potatoes during last 10 minutes.
Drain roast of liquid, reserving a small portion to make a gravy.
Make a double crust with baking mix, oil and a little water.
Shred roast. In a large pie plate, add meat and veggies to bottom crust. Top with sliced velveeta (or stir into beef mixture). Top with second crust. Bake on a baking sheet about 45 minutes, or til top crust is golden brown and mixture is bubbling.
For dessert, chop small amount of cherries and mix into baking mix and a little heavy cream. Bake according to package. Simmer remaining cherries with a little brown sugar til softened. Cool. Whip remaining cream and serve over baked shortcakes and caramelized cherries.

I would cook the roast in water, salting and peppering it extra ingredient 1 would be egg noodles that i would combine with the beef for beef and noodles,
i would grate the carrots and combine the carrots cheese and baking mix to make an appetizer cheesy carrot biscuits
I would use the baking mix as directed and add cherries to make silver dollar size cherry pancakes for a dessert extra ingredient number 2 being whip cream to top it with
i would also add potatoes (extra ingredient 3) boiling them in water and then mashing them and i would serve the beef and noodles over baked potatoes
Mmm, cherries rock with beef, Chelle.
I live to serve, Mel!
Thanks, all!
white potatoes, milk, beef broth
Bake the roast with potatoes in a dutch oven until tender, keep warm. Boil the carrots, until fork tender and place in casserole dish. Melt Velveeta with a little milk to make a cheese sauce, pour over carrots and bake until slightly brown and bubbly. Remove meat and potatoes from dutch oven, stir beef broth into pan drippings. Mix baking mix with milk to make dumplings, drop onto beef broth mixture and follow dumpling directions on baking mix box. Cherries on the side as salad/dessert.
I love egg noodles, Kimber!
Yum yum!
Pffft.
2. Velveeta
3. baking mix
4. carrot
5. cherries
6. concentrated orange juice
7. powdered sugar
8. Toasted English Muffin Bread
Roast the beef in a little oil in a heavy pot with a tightly closing lid. Add carrots sliced lengthwise, let cook with the meat. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve roast with the carrots and Shannon's Toasted English Muffin Bread. The bread recipe can be found here: http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977011376
Grate carrots, stir up baking mix according to directions, using concentrated orange juice for liquid. Substitute grated carrots for some of the liquid. Bake in a square pan. Mix powdered sugar with a little concentrated orange juice, glaze cake while hot. Pit and halve the cherries, mix with a little powdered sugar. Serve next to or over squares of cake.
Give the Velveeta to someone who wants it.
And I'll take your extra velveeta :)
