How do YOU know you're a Gatherholic?

Oh my! Are you sure the invitation went out? One time I thought I sent a group invitation, same thing, no one joined. I resent the invitation and the people came.

Layla...i have a simple system for avoiding disappointments like yours...I've never owned a group...and since so many kind people on Gather keep inviting me to join theirs, I've never felt the need to

Layla, I didn't get a message about joining Heartbreak Hotel and if I did, I would IMMEDIATELY join, since I'm crazy for love stories gone sad. Smart girl to make two cookies only... I also make a full tray and then wonder how they disappeared without my knowledge. Only my hips know the truth.

Jennifer- read more carefully, there were two SHEETS of scorched goodies.
I got no invite either.

Two days ago I started boiling water to make some oatmeal, then went to check my Gathermail and (of course) got engrossed in the ongoing discussions.

About a half hour later I smelled an odd smell, ran into the kitchen, and sure enough the water had boiled down to nothing and the pan was scorched.

Next time I'll set a timer.

The timer only works if you can hear it. I had a timer on but my office is so far from the kitchen I couldn't hear it!

Two _Sheets of Cookies_?? How sad! I've overboiled eggs before. That's probably the worst smell in the universe. We women get so distracted sometimes when we try multi-tasking..... I've joined your group now and I'm looking forward to reading, and maybe even contributing, to some very heart-breaking articles.

Wow, Lydia you've never been heartbroken? Of course you can join. It's not just about love stories.

There's usually something that mitigates...I've probably *been* what most people call heartbroken, it's just that I don't think of it that way, I expect. I call it a bad patch and start looking for the other side. I'm disgustingly optimistic, Layla. :)

I didn't get my invite until just now. I guess it's a glitch in the system.

Layla, don't lose heart, some of us breeze and out every few days and it takes time to catch up! And those cookies....burnt offereings to the Gather Gods? Who knows, might do some good!

I tried to join but I couldn't get the group name to come up so I could join. I think I need an invite that gets me to the group page to join. Too bad about your cookies!

Re; joining the heart break hotel group. People are managing despite the glitches to join. If you go to groups, enter heart break( not heartbreak) hotel, it should pop up, then just click on the join button on the left side.

Oh, Jennifer....how well I know the smell when boiling eggs and forgetting them...........I had to clean eggs off the walls, ceilings and cabinets...........and could not think of a clever excuse when customers walked in and asked what the horrible smell was.....

Forgive me if I repeat something someone else said because I didn't read the comments. I believe the was a glitch somewhere becaude I remember joining that group yesterday and just now got another invitation so I joined again.

I knew I was an alcoholic when everytime during the night I got up to go to the bathroom I would stop at the computer to see what was going on. This would happen at least three times a night. Sometimes I would just stay up on the first pee of the night.

Layla, sounds like you have it fixed now. Don't worry about the cookies. We've all been there!

lol ive dont the egg thing my eggs were to the point they were exploding out of the pan do you know how hard it is to get to a pan to take it off the stove when its throwing pieces of egg at you. I had a huge towel over my head and my lawnmowing goggles on kids had a great laugh until the realized the smell in the kitchen was there to stay for the day gag.

i got the invite but im not in to the mussy stuff(sorry) I had a heart once til i had it removed all better now, no more heart break.

What a difference a day makes! Despite my techie ineptitude and Gather glitches, people are joining my new group, Heart Break Hotel in droves. Thanks everyone ;-)

Must of been in the air I burnt a batch of muffins the other day:( so sad...They were good muffins

Let's see how do I know I am a gatheroholic, let me count the ways. When I get so tired I can hardly think or see straight I force myself to get off the computer for awhile and then while watching tv or relaxing I make notes on articles I am going to write. I house clean while on Gather. I have dial up so it's a bit slow sometimes. I get so caught up in it I look up and 4 hours have gone by or I have to pee so bad I tear myself away when I can't stand it any longer. I have limited my survey sites to only those I really like, haven't checked my freebie sites for awhile and have to write myself notes on things I have to get done during the day besides doing Gather. I have also been dissapointed when not too many people join my groups. I'm getting tired now because I've been on the computer for about 6 1/2 hours now. I do get my excercise in. I download pictures while I'm on my treadmill.

How ironic! As it happens I'm in the thick of holiday cookie baking. So far so good ;-)
BUT how do I know I'm still a gatherholic? My computer crashed yesterday and I still gathered. I had to borrow my hubbies laptop ;-)
