Good evening from good ole South Louisiana. In an effort not to gain weight, I've really avoided visiting any of my friends. Even when I went to the French Quarter, I opted to have a couple of Coronas in a cool bar instead of eating every hour. People here love to eat. I am easily tempted. It's insulting to go to someone's house and not eat. They cook plenty of food and you better eat and take a plate home with you. It's really almost too hot to eat anyway. Here's a little cool snack that you may want to try:
You need sliced peaches and grapes
also raspberries and blackberries
Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the fruit slices and grapes in a single layer on top. Freeze and then put in small freezer bags. These store up to one month.
I like to put the frozen red seedless grapes into my red wine for an extra little zing. Room temperature is uh - well, not the same as room temperature in southern California.
Also, another idea that just popped into my head is frozen watermelon juice. I keep watermelon in my refrigerator and put slices into my blender. I make refreshing watermelon juice and that's what I drink every morning. I'll fill some ice trays with this juice as well, put in a little wooden stick or toothpick and you can have a quick cold snack later in the day! Enjoy!
Salud!

I like the red wine part. I'm going to need a bigger mason jar to fit that frozen watermelon in my drink.
Cheers from the OHC porch!

Thanks.
The only problem was that I forgot there was alcohol in them for the first...um...two. No Alcohol aftertaste. It was dangerous. The third one came and hubby reminded me, just in time. : )
Your smoothie recipes sound pretty good too.
I do one for the kids with strawberries, oranges and a little Hershey's dark cocoa powder. I always use Kefir instead of milk. They sell it at Costco. (drinkable yougurt.)
