Last year I made myself what I thought was an attainable New Year's Resolution - to read 100 book in a year. Well, I did not keep track past January but I am pretty sure I didn't make it. This year I have challenged myself to read 52 books in a year. That is merely one book per week. Even with work and a hectic family life I should be able to do that.
To start the year off right, DH bought me a plethora of books for Christmas. (Listed below) I have already completed 2 of them and have started on my third. So far, so go...
I plan on writing small reviews of each book to help me keep track. Those will be forthcoming.
My TBR stack -
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman (read Jan. 2009)
Shadow Baby by Alison McGhee (read Jan. 2009)
Dead Before Dark by Charlaine Harris (currently reading)
The Kindness of Strangers by Katrina Kittle
One Foot in Eden by Ron Rash
The Heretics Daughter by Kathleen Kent
Peace Like a River by Leif Enger
The Monster's of Templeton by Lauren Groff
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon
The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz
The Last Witchfinder by James Morrow
The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
So here's to reading and hopefully to crushing one of my New Year's Resolutions!

I've been wanting to read several of these, including the Michael Chabon book and the Junot Diaz book, so I'd love to see what you think of them. I made it past 70 in 2008, and I am trying for 100 books this year.
I wish my DH would buy me books. He gets a little upset when I go crawl into bed with a book. I think he gets jealous. He once told me he was going to glue a book to his butte for me.
