Cyrano de Bergerac, that great nose for poetry, that smell of roses hidden in garlic, that HONKER of a wonderful play done well if not too well in the 50's starring Mel Ferrer!

Is on my local PBS affiliate tonight staring Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner.

Now KLINE is an ACTOR...

Garner (usually), is an empty spandex suit..

We shall see!
[from Wiki....]
"Hector Savinien de Cyrano de Bergerac (6 March 1619 – 28 July 1655) was a French dramatist and duelist who is now best remembered for the many works of fiction which have been woven around his life story. In these fictional works he is featured with an overly large nose; portraits suggest that he did have a big nose, though not nearly as large as described in Edmond Rostand's play and the subsequent works about him. A statue of him stands in the town of Bergerac, Dordogne."

do I need to worry ?
BTW I think I'll check this out I like PBS
Roxanne is a lousy part but this is painful...
Looks like the same faces she pulled in 13 going on 30.
she's doing the line well enough, but she's OVERdoing them...
playing to the cheap seats in the top row.
Garner may someday become a wonderful actress, but not this day.
It is amazing and far tougher and more angry than this one.
Kline was excellent though.. He is getting a bit long in the tooth, alas.
I remember seeing Tom on teevee at some ungodly morning hour years and years ago...
And love your icon, Doc.
